Remember when people thought working from home meant watching This Morning with your feet up? Things moved on quickly in the pandemic and my team are now all hybrid. There’s a good piece on how this can work on the PRmoment website, which I was pleased to contribute to. My three top tips would be: 1. Plan your week to suit where you’re working. Some tasks work better from the quiet at home, some work better working with colleagues in the office 2. Pick up the phone, put in that meeting and don’t rely on Teams all the time 3. Make the most of where you are: take the time to grab a coffee with someone in the office, or to schedule a break to go on the school run when you’re at home. Oh, and maybe watch This Morning - great piece this week with Trading Standards on white goods insurance fraud, something the ICO works to prevent as part of our work to prevent nuisance calls.

20% of internal comms budgets have decreased in the past 12 months, claims research The internal communications profession is suffering from a case of not taking its own advice. That’s the conclusion Ian Morris came to after reading the latest Inside Insight report from VMA GROUP, benchmarking the internal comms profession in the UK, and attending the report’s Northern launch in Manchester. The report, based on responses from almost 600 internal comms professionals, paints a mixed picture of how the function is valued by senior business leaders. Good and Bad PR: wins all round for Labour Andy Barr reviews Labour's PR and comms activity throughout the election in his latest column. "Fourteen years of hurt for Labour came to an abrupt and predicted end after last Thursday’s election win. I think historians will not look upon the 2024 election campaign with a huge amount of interest or excitement. "Once Labour swept into power and the keys to Downing Street were handed over, they hit the ground running. Kier’s first speech was spot on, his appointments were slick, well received by political analysts and the public alike and all in all, very dynamic."
