Approximately 2 years ago I was invited to Tesco HQ to attend an even. After driving for about two hours, I was 10 mins away from their HQ when I received a call to say that unfortunately, I could not attend because of an incomplete process. The person at the other end of the phone was apologising and I could hear how sorry she was when I told her I was only 10 mins away. For some reason I was not unset, instead I felt very proud of how close I came to driving through those gates and I told myself that one day, I will get even closer. Yesterday that day finally came. Not only did I drive through those gates, it was the launch of Tesco’s accelerator programme with JAMAICA RUM VIBES being one of 27 great brands selected to take part. Sometimes we have to trust the process and as my mother use to tell me, “nothing happens before it’s time”. 🤫When I was 10 mins away, I turned my mobile off to ensure that even if it was a mistake, I would have been through those gates and into the building 😀. A massive thanks to the entire team at Tesco for giving me this opportunity, including Paul Curtis Christarose Maphosa and Leon Donald. A special thanks to Sam Akinluyi 🤝
