Thank you to staff and students at Jesus College Cambridge who donated well over 100 books following a college-wide 'book drive’ organised by the Master, Sonita Alleyne OBE. These fantastic children’s and adult books are now helping us stock up for the opening of another Abbey People Little Free Library this spring. Our new Little Free Library will be in Ekin Road and hosted by a new volunteer little free librarian - Miriam. This Library (like the one on Wadloes Road, hosted by volunteer librarian Sharon) has been made and decorated for us by the Jesus College maintenance dept. Did you know: 📚 That this month [March 2025] the Little Free Library organisation is celebrating the opening of its 200,000th library! 📚 There are now Little Free Libraries in 128 countries around the world - which together have shared over *400 million books* with their communities. 📚 There are four Little Free Libraries in Abbey - on Beche Road, on Wadloes Road, at the Hub, and at the Food Hub and there is a fifth one coming this spring for Ekin Road. 📚 You might also have seen our pop-up Little Free Library tent at the Big Lunch; seen us supporting the annual 'Spring into Reading' campaign at Galfrid School; or enjoyed the new books included in our Christmas Hamper deliveries each year. 📚 The Abbey People Little Free Library project has been running since March 2020 and was started by our volunteer, Catherine (otherwise known as 'Book Lady'), who collected the most recent donation for us in her 'book bike'! What kind of books do you like to find in our Little Free Libraries? Send us a picture of your favourites or a suggestion of what we should be stocking next!

Greatly appreciate one of my favorite independent local newspapers The Cambridge Independent running an article about our March 19 (6pm-9pm) event on #Regenerative Business to celebrate #BCorp month at Executive Education at Cambridge Judge Business School. I will deliver a talk on the topic and we will have a panel discussion featuring B Corp leaders from the region who will share their unique insights on leading a business through sustainable and responsible change, including: - Rebecca Ryder, head of technical and quality, Cambridge Commodities - Alison Taylor CEO, Conscious Communications, and - Sophie Costello, CEO, Costello Medical. The evening will conclude with closing remarks by Tom Ebbutt, director of impact at B Lab UK. If you are in Cambridge then, please consider attending! For so long, the female body has been limited by the patriarchal notion of femininity, an ideal which is impossible for women to meet. Clare Chambers calls for a radical new framework that can help us keep our bodies intact, unmodified, and as canvases for joyful expression rather than as vehicles of control. Join the Cambridge University philosopher as she discusses how this framework can help men as much as it can help women, and how the ideals of masculinity are becoming more and more dangerous thanks to our digital culture. Good luck to everyone running the Cambridge Half Marathon this weekend. Nearly 100 of our students, Fellows and staff will be taking on the 13.1 mile route on Sunday which passes through four Cambridge Colleges (saving the best until last 😉). A number of our runners are raising funds for our charity partner, The Red Hen Project. We'll be cheering them all on as they pass through our grounds on the way to the finish line. There will also be a steel band playing on the football pitch! #TTPCambridgeHalf #CambridgeHalf
