Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho, in partnership with JKS Restaurants, will welcome guests to Legado in Shoreditch, London this summer – her second opening following the Michelin-starred Sabor London in 2018. With two decades at the helm of Spanish cuisine in London, Legado – meaning ‘legacy’ – is a nod to Nieves’ personal journey and a celebration of Spain’s diverse regional food cultures. Moving beyond the familiar, Legado will explore ingredients, dishes and dining traditions from across the country, drawing inspiration from the lively tabancos of Cádiz and Jerez, the whole-animal cookery of Castilla y León’s grand asadors, the seafood-rich restaurants along Galicia’s coastline, and the hearty stews of Asturias. Larger than any project to date for Nieves, the space and design granted in Legado will provide her and her team an environment for further research and development and a platform for her continually evolving creativity. “It has always been my greatest pleasure to cook food from my country, but there are still many more stories to tell about the dishes and flavours that I haven’t found outside of Spain. Legado is a kind of playground for me, and I am excited to share my memories and discoveries of food and drinks – I hope everyone will enjoy” says Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho. Joining the neighbourhood in late summer, Nieves’ Legado invites guests to embrace the nuance of Spanish regional cuisine, crafting its legacy here in London.

We're celebrating a big milestone for the JKS team: the 10th JKS anniversary of our COO, Joanne Searley. Since joining JKS in 2015, Joanne has played an integral role in the business’ growth, leading on almost every new opening across the group. Beyond her operational prowess, Joanne’s people-first approach has helped shaped core JKS policies and mindsets outside of her role; advocating for mental health awareness and partnering JKS with industry charities to provide vital support for employees in times of need, while working to empower women throughout hospitality as a mentor for female operators. Her commitment to welfare alongside her dedication and operational excellence make her a standout leader in the industry. Joanne has worked closely with our founders Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina, and all JKS partners throughout her time with JKS, and has been a fundamental part of the Senior Leadership Team for several years now. Thank you Joanne for all of your hard work, dedication and all you have done for JKS in the last 10 years. We couldn't have achieved what we have without you!
