Oasis might cancel 50,000 tickets, but how is it a breach of contract? News outlets are reporting that up to 50,000 tickets for the upcoming Oasis '25 sold out tour could be cancelled if they are sold on resale sites as this breaks the contract between consumer and promoter. But what contract has been broken, what does the contract say, and how can this be enforced by Ticketmaster? Last week a group of JMW employees from our Liverpool office had the pleasure of visiting the NSPCC Liverpool Hub to take a tour of the facilities, including the therapeutic areas which are vital in supporting the NSPCC's work with families. Our team also met with the Childline Liverpool team where they learned that one of the biggest causes of anxiety for young people is loneliness. As our Liverpool office's Charity of the Year for 2024, we are always looking for ways to support the charity and the important work they do for families, which is why the team also contributed to the Bright Sparks Lunch Club where they offered feedback on how to best encourage staff at corporate partners to volunteer with the organisation, and delivered another box of children's books for the bookcase we had previously donated. Thank you to the NSPCC and Tania Oliveira for the incredibly insightful experience, and thank you to Joanne Roberts, Catrin Morgan-Lee, Jessica O'Toole, Danelle Foley, and Lucy Thomas for going along on the day. #NSPCCSupport #FamilyLaw #CommunityImpact #YouthWellbeing #GivingBack #LiverpoolCommunity #TeamJMW

"Why is the Department for Transport unable to retain Traffic Commissioners beyond 4 or 5 years?" asks the Traffic Commissioners' Annual Report. Despite taking an additional quarter to reach us, earlier this month the Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain released their Annual Report to the Secretary of State, outlining how they are primarily a road safety tribunal and that their jurisdiction is too important to be allowed to fail.
