Today, on Merchant Navy Day, we celebrate the dedication and commitment of all those who serve at sea. At Just Be Maritime, we wanted to highlight two of our Officer Cadets who might just be the furthest from the UK, training onboard the Swire Shipping vessel Suva Chief in the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Deck Officer Cadet Alfie Allen sponsored by Trinity House and Engineer Officer Cadet Daniel Hamilton sponsored by Trinity House and Hill Robinson joined the ship in Seattle and have recently crossed the Pacific to Vietnam. Despite being thousands of miles from home, they are gaining invaluable experience and contributing to the global maritime industry. Their journey is a testament to the international nature of our profession and the vital role that the Merchant Navy plays in connecting the world. Here's to our cadets, the Suva Chief crew, and every seafarer around the world. #MerchantNavyDay #JustBeMaritime #SuvaChief #MaritimeCadets #GlobalSeafarers Careers At Sea Warsash Maritime School South Shields Marine School

Just Be Maritime is delighted to announce that the Maritime London Officer Cadet Scholarship charity (MLOCS) has now engaged our Officer Cadet Management Services. MLOCS is a charity which provides the funds to enable young people to undertake the three years of training required to become a Merchant Navy officer following a Deck (Navigation), Marine Engineer or Electro-Technical (ETO) professional pathway. To date, MLOCS has raised more than £3m in support of cadet training, and the charity currently has ten cadets under various stages of training. MLOCS cadets additionally benefit from their involvement, through the sponsors and the MLOCS trustees, with a wide range of experience in the maritime services sector generally and so enhancing future job opportunities. ANTHONY VLASTO, Chairman of MLOCS, commented, “We are delighted to be appointing Just Be Maritime Ltd (JBM) as our new Training Provider with effect from 29th July 2024. The deep experience of the JBM team in all aspects of cadet management will greatly enhance our offering to the potential seafarers of tomorrow and we look forward to a long and fruitful association to the benefit of our current and future cadets.” #maritime #cadets #recruitment MARITIME LONDON https://lnkd.in/eJkQxDQe
