A thought-provoking morning in sunny Westminster with Fleur Carson attending the Shelter Safe as Houses event, focused on the need for more social housing to be built in the UK. Some pretty sobering facts such as 1.3m people on the waiting list for social housing and 160,000 children currently living in temporary accommodation. Lots of thought-provoking discussion about the economic case for social housing, and what government and business can do to help. I'm proud that Karndean Designflooring UK has chosen Shelter as our charity of the year to support them in their mission to defend the right to a safe home for everyone. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of spending five incredible days with a truly inspiring cohort, undertaking our Executive Coaching Advanced Certification. It’s been an enriching and thought-provoking experience—personally and professionally. From exploring the power of silence (a real challenge for me!) to diving into frameworks, models and real-world practice, every moment has been a chance to grow. Working so closely with each and every individual in the group—coaching, being coached, sharing stories and feedback—has not only sharpened our skills but built a genuine sense of connection and trust. It’s a rare thing to learn with and from such a talented group of peers. While there’s more to come with university submissions on the horizon, I’m already looking forward to bringing this learning back to Karndean Designflooring UK. I’ll be stepping into my first official coaching conversation on Monday, and I feel more prepared—and more energised—than ever. Here’s to continuing the journey and embedding coaching even more deeply into our learning and development culture. Exploring Luxury Vinyl Flooring with Karndean This week, I had the opportunity to visit Karndean Designflooring UK with The Interior Designers Hub , where we were given a behind-the-scenes look at their design process and extensive product range.
