Spot our Italian Pavillion in this month's Homes & Gardens magazine. Thank you Arabella Youens for featuring this magical 'room with a view.' "Trompe l'oeil, the artistic device in which the eye is tricked into seeing painted walls and surfaces as three dimensional, has long been used in garden rooms as a way of bringing the outside inside and stamping a very personal mark on a space." Originally built in 1873 as a coach house serving nearby Kent House, my team and I painstakingly restored this Knightsbridge private residence over two years a little while back. The final luxury interior artfully balances a contemporary design aesthetic with rich, historic detailing, reflecting the heritage of Knightsbridge’s Rutland Gardens. Standout architectural features include the intricately inlaid marble entrance hall floor; a linear, bronze staircase scrolling gracefully upwards through the building; and generous sash windows to both the front and rear façade which flood each of the seven floors with natural light. #Knightsbridgehomes #London #interiordesign #KatharinePooley #RutlandGardens
