We recently celebrated ‘Second Hand September’ as our monthly wellbeing initiative across the Kids Planet family, and it was such a success, at Head Office we rolled it out into October. Our Sip and Swap final event yesterday saw colleagues enjoy some tasty hot chocolate and peruse the remaining items! Across the group, we embraced sustainability and making a positive impact with Oxfam’s Second Hand September – a campaign that encourages us all to think twice about buying new and to champion pre-loved items instead. The nurseries embraced the initiative by visiting local charity shops and buying and donating items, reusing items within play, hosting their own swap shops, holding collection points for parents and the community, and much more. It’s a powerful way to support the environment and make conscious choices that help reduce waste, save energy and resources, and much more. Plus it’s a welcome opportunity to find unique, one-of-a-kind treasures while being kind to our wallets. Thank you to everyone who has got involved. ♻️ 💕

Some of our Head Office team enjoyed our 'Welly Walk' today to the lovely local Lymm Dam, in support of Clare Roberts OBE's upcoming charity trek in Cambodia with the EY Foundation. We got away with only a little bit of rain and we kept in good spirits, all for a brilliant cause. The team at Kids Planet Lytham Lodge, in Lytham Saint Annes, is delighted to have been awarded ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ in all areas following their recent inspection – and have completed their outdoor learning journey to become an Udeskole nursery (Kids Planet’s unique nature based approach!) The report highlights the settings passion for staff development, stating “The setting is relentless in its drive to maintain exceptional standards and to continuously improve. It supports staff in developing their knowledge and skills. Today is International Day of the Girl and to celebrate we are supporting the 'Disruptive to Disruptor' campaign led by Girls Out Loud. The idea is for us all to recall a negative word or phrase directed at us when we were young by teachers, parents or anyone in our life, that we have now converted into one of our superpowers.
