The Financial Conduct Authority has released crucial insights on how Financial Service Firms can ensure they develop good outcomes for customers in vulnerable circumstances.   The FCA emphasises the importance of: > Identifying Vulnerable Customers: Firms must proactively identify customers who may be vulnerable due to various factors such as financial shocks, health issues, or life events. This means ensuring that employees are supported in achieving this and are able to encourage customer disclosure appropriately. > Tailored Support: Providing tailored support and services to meet the specific needs of vulnerable customers, ensuring they receive fair treatment and positive outcomes. This means that employees need to be equipped to provide the appropriate support promptly and with a suitable level of care. > Training and Awareness: Ensuring all employees are adequately trained to recognise and respond to the needs of vulnerable customers, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding. This is important for all employees, not just those who are directly customer-facing, ensuring that the learning is embedded into their behaviours and working practices. > Continuous Improvement: Regularly reviewing and improving policies, processes and customer interactions to better support vulnerable customers. Effective monitoring of outcomes and regular testing of consumer understanding are two important facets to help inform changes needed.   Konexo is working with a variety of financial service firms to implement these practices, ensuring the policies and procedures are in place to meet regulatory requirements and protect customer outcomes.

The ACC Annual Report surveyed 772 Chief Legal Officers across 48 countries. It remains clear that the in-house legal team needs to 'do more with less.' Key findings: > Being understaffed is the biggest barrier that legal departments face. > Nearly half of legal departments will implement new legal technology including CLM, Matter and Knowledge Management tools. > The top strategic initiative is achieving operational efficiency.
