New this month: an intro to content ops. In the most simple terms, content operations are the ‘how’ of content in your organisation. Defining your content operations (or content ops) means having clarity on exactly how you’ll get your content done: the people elements (like workflow and governance), the processes and procedures, and the tools and technology. Solid content ops are what enables teams to execute a content strategy to a high standard, day in, day out, year after year. But despite that, they don’t always get the attention they deserve. Hence this beginners guide, to help you understand what to consider as part of the process of defining your content ops. Get a quick overview in these slides, or read the full version here: https://lnkd.in/eRRYwHXx #ContentOperations #ContentOps #ContentStrategy

New article and free resource: a heuristic framework for content, AKA 10 rules of thumb for impactful content. A heuristic framework is great tool to have in your back pocket when you want to do a structured evaluation, but don’t have the time or budget for a full content audit and/or user testing. The framework sounds a lot like a manifesto, so there's a poster version available too. You can find the link to the article and the downloads in the comments.

We're sponsoring Content Rising, a hopeful green communications conference that’s taking place on 12th September 2024 at Wakehurst Place in Sussex. Working in content in this sector, at this moment in time, means facing the challenge of our lifetime head-on, every day. In the face of that, you need community and time to reflect. We're really happy to happy to help by providing sponsorship to cover a few free spots to people who wouldn’t be able to attend otherwise.
🌟 #ContentRising has its first sponsorship support and we want to celebrate! 🌟 We are particularly happy because our first financial support comes from La Pope Ltd - one of the best and most knowledgeable content strategy and content design consultancies in the UK. Lauren Pope, who runs La Pope, helps people who work for charities, cultural organisations, and nonprofits create content that works towards a better, fairer, more beautiful world. La Pope has given us enough cash to support 5 people who couldn't otherwise come along to have free tickets. We have already begun to distribute these. Lauren says: "Working in content in this sector, at this moment in time, means facing the challenge of our lifetime head-on, every day. In the face of that, you need community and time to reflect. I'm really excited to be able to support that and help people who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend." Thank you so much Lauren Pope and La Pope Ltd 🙏 We look forward to holding the space with you help build that community and make time for reflection. An extract from the new guide to content design for the third sector: 10 essential content design principles to help you get started. There's a new resource on the website: A guide to content design for charities, nonprofits, and the third sector. I've been meaning to write this for a while. What finally spurred me on was a bunch of conversations with people in content-focused roles who didn't know what content design was. Despite proven benefits in the government, health, and technology sectors, content design hasn't been widely adopted by the third sector. In this guide to content design, I'll explain what content design is, why it's crucial, and show you how to start implementing its principles. We'll explore how content design can improve user experience, clarify your content, and support data-driven decision-making. Finally, I'll provide practical tips on how you can begin applying these concepts, even with limited resources. https://lnkd.in/ej4_F4rg
