Thank you to those who were able to join us last night at GAUCHO to announce the winners of the #LATAMediaAwards 2024. The awards celebrate the best travel content published in the United Kingdom, recognising and rewarding articles, blogs, photography and social media content that promote travel to and around Latin America. It is testament to all our members that we received so many entries to the awards this year, as it shows that writers, editors and content creators can find stories across Latin America, and can bring those stories to life. There really are some exceptional experiences to be had. Congratulations to all our winning and highly commended entries. The full list is online here: https://lnkd.in/e2qpevXM Special thanks to Sarah Bradley, Naomi McKee, Gabriel Laing (O’Rorke), Kate McWilliams and Martin Johnson for your valuable time and efforts in judging the awards. 📷 Gregg Brown

LATA was delighted to join so many industry friends and partners in celebrating 50 years of Bradt Guides last night at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). Congratulations Hilary and all of the Bradt team past and present. Hilary summed up the lost art of getting lost perfectly, saying ‘you’re never lost, you’re just seeing new places’. Adrian Phillips did a wonderful job of hosting the discussion between Hilary, Colin Thubron and Nicolas Crane, and perhaps found a new career as an auctioneer.

It was great to see so many LATA members at The TRIP Group masterclass on travel risk management yesterday. There were many thought-provoking sessions, covering topics on geopolitics and the travel risk landscape, personal safety, emergency response planning, traveller health and wellbeing, travel insurance, and accommodation and transportation safety. Thank you to Lloyd Figgins MSyl, Christine Shacklady and everyone at the TRIP Group for putting on this informative masterclass and to the speakers for their input and insights. We're so pleased to be able to offer attendance at these events to our members as part of the LATA membership. Here are our key takeaways from the day's sessions.
