    If you build it they will come! Growing up I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time in France and learnt to speak French watching dubbed English films. Don’t judge me but one summer I watched Fields of Dreams on a loop. The line “Si tu le construis, il viendra” is burnt into my subconscious, so much so it’s pretty much the only thing I can say in French now. So when I was out running this morning and noticed how much the corn had grown, naturally the quote popped into my head. Without sounding all woohoo it was as if nature was speaking to me. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the last few years since Covid. Grafting trying to build a thing and hoping they will come, and turns out they are. The metaphorical corn is almost mature enough to harvest and in the next few weeks we’ll be opening the doors on our very own Field of Dreams. Last week we delivered virtual workshops for customer service teams in Malaysia on creating empathy through written communications, a few weeks ago we looked at verbals communication.     Over the last few weeks, we've been busy creating scenarios that represent our clients' everyday realities when dealing with customers or colleagues. Through drama-based scenarios mirroring real-life challenges, we create truly immersive and engaging learning that drives real behavioural change. From getting under the skin of a business, to crafting scripts, casting actors and getting out on set to film we have produced numerous films for eLearning modules and virtual workshops all highly tailored to the experience of the business, the region and the team.     Seth Godin has a point - as usual. What ties all these elements of value creation together? Or better yet, what could drag them down? Bad interpersonal relationships. You might nod and think, “That's just office life. You click with some, not with others. It's random.” But I don't buy it. Creating strong workplace relationships isn’t about luck. It’s a skill. Like any skill, it requires practice and intention. You don't just stumble on good relationships; you build them. I call this skill 'Plays Well with Others'. Yes, you can learn it. And yes, it will change the game at work.

    Retail crime is never victimless. Not only does it cost the sector over £1 billion every year, the emotional impact on those involved can be devastating. Having long called on the Government to do more to tackle the issue, I am pleased that they’ve recognised our ask for violence towards retail workers to be recognised as a standalone offence. This sends a clear message that abuse will never be tolerated, helping deter acts of aggression, and allowing police to drive prosecutions where necessary. https://lnkd.in/eDwcyuru
