Thank you to all who attended Edge 2024 last week, it was a huge success. From the state of the nation to the IPO journey, we hosted insightful keynotes and several invaluable discussions with magnificent panels. For those of you who missed it, we’ve summarised some of the key takeaways below: Succession planning – don’t be caught out by the internal shock of an IPO. Develop and implement a clear retention and incentive plan for key employees or leadership teams as early as possible. Communication – there is a balance to be struck between communication and education. Employees need help to demystify their equity, understand the company’s vision for the future and address rumours during the IPO journey. Secondaries – acting as an enabler of tangible value for employees of private businesses, we expect to see growth in the availability and execution of secondaries.
