Abbey House Museum to remain open following public consultation. After almost 10,000 responses, we can announce that Abbey House Museum will remain open to visitors and that planning for upcoming events and exhibitions will continue. However, savings still need to be made, and alternative options to secure the savings required are currently being reviewed. Speaking on the decision, Councillor Salma Arif, executive member for adult social care, active lifestyles and culture said: “It was clear from ward members the strength of feeling locally, and this has been replicated from across Leeds in the consultation. As a result, we’re pleased to say the museum will stay open. “What we need now is for people channel the passion and enthusiasm they have demonstrated during the consultation into visiting and engaging with the site as much as possible over the coming months so we can all work to support its future.” Currently, the museum is hosting an exhibition entitled Story Time, which includes a huge variety of historic books and games, each exploring the magical world of children’s stories. These proposals are subject to public consultations which are live from 12 December 2024 - 23 January 2025. We're excited to announce All In has launched its pilot programme in Leeds! Leeds Heritage Theatres, Leeds Museums & Galleries, Leeds Playhouse , and Opera North are the first organisations to test the new access scheme for creativity and culture in the UK and Ireland. The four organisations represent a diverse range of artforms across theatre, museums, heritage, opera and art allowing the scheme to be tested across a range of different venues and creative outputs. The pilot will run for eight months through to summer 2025, laying the groundwork for expansion across West Yorkshire before a national roll out in the second half of 2025. We look forward to working together in the coming months! Find out more at allin.online #WeAreAllIn

We're so excited to be part of the All In pilot ahead of the national rollout in 2025! Accessibility is incredibly important to us, and we want to do all we can to remove barriers and welcome more disabled people through our doors. The pilot will trial key elements of the scheme, including accessibility standards for creativity and culture, the skills development programme, and the digital membership system. We're looking forward to working closely with All In and our friends at Leeds Heritage Theatres, Opera North and Leeds Playhouse on this important project. #WeAreAllIn Find out more at allin.online
