Wrapping up Black History Month at Lewis Silkin. 🙂 This year, we proudly embraced the theme “Reclaiming Narratives,” shining a brighter light on the stories and history that deserve greater recognition. Highlights included: 🎙️Pearl Aggrey and Jordan Quartey joined British-Ghanaian Lawyers Union (BGLU) to discuss and offer valuable tips from the early stages of their legal careers: https://okt.to/b3954C 🗣️We were joined by Kofi Achina, who delivered a live spoken word performance at our London office. The performance explored untold stories, historical truths, and the reclamation of Black voices. 🎙️We hosted an internal podcast with Sharon Thomas to discuss dismantling barriers in the legal industry. Sharon is founder of the Black Counsel Forum (BCF) and a dedicated advocate for advancing the careers of Black lawyers. 🍲Colleagues across our offices were treated to delicious offerings sourced from Black-owned businesses. This included special lunch options inspired by the cuisine of African countries. 💬We hosted a Culture Club discussion, facilitated by Rumbi E. from Business in the Community. The session was based on the film “Sitting in Limbo”, a drama inspired by the Windrush scandal where we explored the central themes from the film and the lasting impact of events that occurred during this time. #LewisSilkin #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM
