😎 Day 3 at the Lively & Grit Daily House at #SXSW, and that’s a wrap! 🎉 Thank you for all the support from speakers and attendees; the feedback has been amazing! 🙌 The day started with a private gathering of great minds to listen to Mike White from Lively Worldwide and Emily Ross, EMEA Director of Brand & Strategy from X, discussing the evolution of the X platform and the power of conversation. 💡 The morning then kicked off with a discussion around the use of AI in creating content, thanks to the support of Dell Technologies! 🖥️ Special thanks to Rachel Joy Victor from FBRC.ai, Alex Porter, CEO of Mod Tech Labs, Skylar Thomas, Co-Founder of PlaybookX, and Erin Reilly, Professor of Practice and Inaugural Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. 🌟 The highlight for us was the ability to integrate physical and digital experiences. The talks showcased new products in spatial computing that will help us all seamlessly leverage the power of technology. 🚀 Our second panel, with, Mike White, was an inspiring conversation with Lucas W. from @ArcRunr. ArcRunr allows real-time live streaming into virtual spaces. Described as the LiveNation of the Metaverse, this will be a real game-changer! 🎮 The afternoon was brought to us by Wowzer, an AI creative product that’s going to revolutionize the creative process. 🎨 The first session was a keynote and audience discussion with c. Craig Patterson, who showed us how AI has enhanced his creative process and allowed him to express himself. ✨ We then went straight into a discussion around unleashing the controversy! A sensitive subject perfectly navigated by @James-Word, VP of AI management at Wowzer. The questions presented were handled with great insight by panelists C. Craig, Gabby Hoefer, UX Researcher at IBM, and surprise guest Erik Weaver, Head of Production - Entertainment Technology Centre. 🤔 As if that wasn’t enough for our final day, we then jumped into sessions with Danny Tomsett, CEO and Founder of UneeQ, and Roger Dooley from Forbes, showing us just how “human” AI will become. 🤖 Cigdem Oztabak from CNN Türk, Justin Day from Day by Day Digital, who wore the new Apple Vision Pro through the entire panel, and Anne Ahola Ward from Circle Click Media. Here, the panel discussed the role AI will play in marketing to audiences. 📊 Then, our final session was wrapped up by Emily Olman from @VR-Insider, Tony Parisi from Metratron Studio, and Grace Ng from Mimes.ai. So that’s it for this year. Our first foray into #sxsw24 , and we can truly say we have been bitten by the bug. 💫 Day 2 at the Lively & Grit Daily House at #SXSW was another fantastic experience 💫 Thank you to the impressive speakers and the attendees, which included first time visitors as well as repeat visitors! The day started with insights from Shannon Reed of THE FIFTH Clayton F. Ruebensaal, Chief Creative Officer, Comcast and Tarah Malhotra-Feinberg, SVP, Wayfarer Studios. We then had an energetic discussion between Chris Duffey of Adobe, Nico Sarti of Condé Nast, Mia Sutton of Under Armour and Deeps (Deepak) Ramanathan of Degreed, hosted by Mark Mitchell and Mike White, co-Founders of Lively Worldwide. Key points covered throughout the morning included: 💬 the challenges but importance of internal comms around digital business change, there is a need to fight the risk averse within our own organisations 💥 the importance of testing and experimenting as opposed to sticking to cookie cutter approaches 💎 the increase of customer expectations in the digital world technical disruption being caused by generative AI 👣 the need to always consider and put at the front of campaigns the human experience 🔑 experiential marketing and connecting in real life is key 🤝 loyalty is now leading consumer decisions, and there is an expectation around added value Throughout the afternoon we heard from a range of brands and speakers disrupting industries including healthcare, beauty, fintech, and even security as Brandon Harper of Axon and Tina Mulqueen, Chrome Roads, discussed the use of VR to provide immersive training for police officers around the world. 💥 Day one went off with a bang here yesterday at the Lively and Grit Daily House at SXSW - what a first day! It’s safe to say Roblox was mentioned a number of times across our panels 🙌 and they’re definitely pioneering the brand opportunities in gaming. 🎤 Mark Mitchell of Lively Worldwide introduced the event with insights on innovation meeting empathy, with the output being enhanced brand engagement, laying the groundwork for a day of information, opinion and best practice. 🌎 Jonathan Stringfield, PhD of Activision Blizzard Media highlighted the diversification of gamers - forget the cliched teenage boy in bedroom. 48% of gamers identify as female, and the evolving ecosystem means people are consuming games across multiple touchpoints and times. Similarly to how TV consumption has moved away from the majority viewing during primetime, gaming is now an all day and night affair with people consuming as, when and how it suits them. ⚡️ Elle McCarthy highlighted the opportunities for brands to be involved in gaming in ways that are fun and quirky, but she also stressed the need to retrain ad agencies, their briefing processes, and to reframe expectations for collaborations. Branding should feel like part of the gaming user experience, they shouldn’t feel marketed to. 👩🏽💻 Swan Sit and Cristina Carl explored the use of blockchain for personal development, particularly in the area of skills, and how virtual reality offers the opportunity to explore immersive technologies to bring people into worlds they wouldn’t usually be in. They also touched upon the VR developer experience, highlighting that it can be intimidating and challenging, particularly for girls and women, to get into immersive and emerging technology development. The key is: Solve what you know. ✨ Connor Kelley, CLMP of Flaunt and Nic Hill of Sawhorse Productions and Mike White discussed the struggles brands previously had with understanding their visitors and audience, and how it is now possible to build campaigns, reward customers and drive visits and engagement through products like Roblox. 📸 Tina Mulqueen and Micha Anthenor Benoliel of Nodle deep dived into the impact of image content authentication and the important role Nodle’s latest product release, Click, is playing in this. 📈 Charles Hambro of GEEIQ presented a wealth of insightful data from the GEEIQ team - stating that UGC gaming is the new social media and whilst the gaming mechanic is an excuse for going in, the reason people stay is for the social aspect of catching up with others.
