We've been sharing colleague stories about their #CarbonLiteracy journeys, and here's an example that truly stands out. In 2024, Michael Limmer, our Senior Asset Manager made a thoughtful decision to change his holiday plans to reduce his #carbonfootprint. By choosing destinations closer to home, he greatly reduced his family's flights. This simple change led to a huge reduction in their carbon footprint – from 3.90 tonnes of CO2 in 2023 to just 1.05 tonnes in 2024! Michael's actions show that even small changes can make a big difference in reducing #carbonemissions. His story highlights how individual efforts can contribute to a larger positive impact. Through our #CarbonLiteracy initiatives, we're encouraging everyone to make conscious choices that help reduce carbon emissions. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to LocatED for organizing such a successful career networking event on 6th March. It provided an excellent platform for connecting with professionals at various stages of their careers and exchanging valuable insights. I would also like to express my gratitude to Knight Frank for their support in making this event possible. It was great getting to hear about the recently launched Knight Frank 2025 Wealth Report and gaining deeper insights into the latest trends in the industry. I’m truly grateful to have had the opportunity to meet Jasper Upton , Charlotte Carver and Temitope Moses for their valuable career advice and industry insights. At the Next Steps Lambeth Careers Fair, deep in Waterloo’s Leake Street, I joined the brilliant Nadia Persaud in the Careers Networking Zone, where we helped students ask bold questions, challenge their own expectations, and make real connections. Watching their confidence grow from hesitant to fully engaged? I wish I had known about opportunities like this my first years of university! The insights from industry professionals and early careers advisors are invaluable, especially with the way job applications and assessment centres are evolving. Today, I had the opportunity to attend the LocatED Early Careers Networking Event at the Knight Frank offices at 55 Baker Street (wasn't expecting to be back here so soon!). Another great experience connecting with professionals, sharing my journey as a placement student at Newmark, and discussing the realities of applications and day-to-day work in the industry. It's clear from the conversations at the event and discussions across social media that the early careers job market is evolving. Some of the classic assessment centre tactics - like being the time-keeper or promoting quieter candidates might not be a winning strategy anymore! With social media reshaping recruitment, understanding what employers truly value has never been more important.
