We created Logic Resourcing as we believe there's a gap in the market for a recruitment agency that’s focused on service, not sales. So I signed myself up for my son's school career fair. I've never really been one of those mums that gets involved with the school that much and thought why not? So with my trusty wheel of fortune and a bowl full of sweets (bribes 😂) I set up alongside a few other parents who had volunteered and what a great morning it was!! Talking with children from the ages 7-11, I was asked a few pre-prepared questions from the children but had a few of my own for them.... My main motivation was to encourage communication skills. No matter what path you decide, good, effective communication is such an important skill to have in life. I was well and truly worn out after being put through my paces by the kids and they were all amazing, with some very interesting career aspirations! There was a marine biologist, lawyers, artists, scientists, actors, vets, plenty of YouTubers and we have the future of teaching covered also! Let me just say, if England doesn't do so well in the Euro's we have a chance in maybe 10 years or so as there were A LOT of aspiring footballers there! A great Positive HR Forum meeting yesterday, which is now breaking for the summer and returning in September 2024, with the topic focused around AI. Greg Scott of NVS Group, ran a great session on Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats, giving a real-life case study on how the methodology helped to manage a major change in their organisation. The Hub Foundation were selected as the charity of the year for the Positive HR Forum, and Adam Yates, COO from the Hub Foundation gave a talk on the great work they do in our city, supporting vulnerable children and families within Stoke-on-Trent, which was really thought provoking. Here’s all you need to know about Steve… 💫Alternative dream job: If we are being realistic, a trade like and electrician or a plumber, so to get my fix I love nothing more than buying a new power tool and testing my DIY skills….with varying results 😊 🌎Favourite places in the world: I love America and Canada. My mum is Canadian, so have spent many great holidays with family in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto. 😨Fears/dislikes: People that show a lack of humility / arrogance. Regardless of how well you have done or what you have achieved, I think we should all treat people with the respect that they deserve. 💪Things I am hoping to Improve on: I am not the most patient person, so adding that to my skillset would be beneficial for work and home life. Last week, Will Clayton - Specialist Employment Lawyer and I welcomed "FORE" Business Crewe’s cohort for our May meeting at Wychwood Park Hotel and Golf Club - managed by Legacy Hotel & Resorts. It was a glorious day and the golf course is in fabulous condition. Lee Quoroll was trying the group out for the first time and had the round of his life, winning with a massive 48 points! 🎰 Lots of business opportunities were discussed over breakfast and on the course.
