Am very excited to be involved in this interactive session on hip and knee injuries and how to prevent them. As a keen gym goer, I completely understand the enjoyment, need and desire to stay active. As a sports hip and knee surgeon, I know the importance of recognizing the early signs of more serious injuries that may warrant my attention. This promises to be an interesting session with no power point presentation! May even go to gym afterwards!

Really enjoyed talking about #cartilage #injury in #knee at the World Congress of Orthopaedics yesterday. In the 18th century, William Hunter said ‘an ulcerated cartilage is a troublesome problem and once destroyed, it never repairs’. Despite significant advances in research and surgical techniques, this still remains true today. Look out for my blog on this in the next week

Enjoyed taking part in debate on surgical management of medial compartment #osteoarthritis in the #knee in our Orthopaedic Society. Osteotomy, Unicompartmental & Total Knee Replacement are all good options.key is to have a two-way discussion and develop a bespoke management plan
