Yesterday, we had the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Open Club take the stand up paddle boards and kayaks out on the water. As part of one of our October half term sessions, we decided to see how far out of the Olympic Park we could paddle! #Rowing #Charity

A couple of weekends ago, some of our young people from LYR Boat Club took to the water at Chelmsford Canoe Club to take part in some races. We had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place and two of the groups went fast enough to be promoted up a category for their next race! Well done to everyone who took part 🎉 #Rowing #Charity #Racing

Wellington Management and Pilotlight recently brought together seven UK charities, including LYR, to address key challenges the charities faced. With guidance from a team of global experts, we focused on developing a more sustainable funding model for long-term impact. Yesterday, each charity and the team of experts presented findings and next steps at a celebration event in Teddington. This work and timing couldn’t be more pivotal as we also recently welcomed Andy Mitchell as our new Chair as we look towards the future. #Rowing #Charity #sports

One month ago, we took some of the guys from Lendlease out on the water at the Royal Docks! 🚣 It was a great session, part of a staff engagement day for Lendlease, who are redeveloping the surrounding area at the Royal Docks. We love seeing people benefit from rowing, even adults! We hope to see some of you out on the water again soon 👀 #Rowing #Charity #Sport Lendlease

It’s been a busy month so far for Active Row Leeds coach, Tom Davidson! 📸 Here is a collection of photos from various Active Row sessions taking place in Leeds schools, including Hanson Academy’s visually impaired students and Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy with their new rowing machines. 🏫 The session at Mount St Mary's Catholic High School saw an incredible 35 young people getting on the indoor rowers for a big session! We hope to see everyone who took part in these sessions on the rowers again soon. 🚣 #Rowing #Charity #Active

We’re committed to empowering young people from diverse communities to improve their mental and physical wellbeing, with 57% of young people taking part in our programmes coming from ethnic minority backgrounds. Our impact report shows that Active Row participants experience a 6.2% increase in sense of life being worthwhile, with a 5% increase in happiness. Rowing, on-water or indoor, plays an important role in building confidence, resilience and self-worth. On World Mental Health Day 2024, we want to reflect on the positive impact rowing has on young people’s mental health through programmes like Active Row. Great to see our new chair’s appointment being shared across the media! We are super excited about having Andy Mitchell onboard - somebody we have worked with in the past, and who we know is the perfect fit to help drive LYR’s mission. We look forward to lots more positive headlines… 👏 #Rowing #Charity #Sport
