This week, a decade since its launch, we'll be announcing the winner of the #LongitudePrize on AMR. The Prize launched in 2014 to incentivise the creation of rapid point-of-care diagnostic tests that, in a matter of minutes, can identify whether an infection is bacterial and, if it is, help doctors to prescribe the right antibiotic. This will revolutionise diagnosis of bacterial infections, which currently can take two-three days to process in a lab, and often result in the incorrect prescription of antibiotics, driving the rise of #antibioticresistance. We are thrilled to have a winner whose device will dramatically improve the lives of many and help in the fight against #AMR.
