🎽 Throwback to our Essex-based Playing Fields project, now the proud home of a local Football and Athletics Club! ⚽ Longley was tasked by the F.A. to design and execute the construction of a new grandstand and a new modular pavilion building to provide a gym facility, a committee room, changing rooms including toilets and showers, as well as a clubhouse area. 👟 The project was awarded via a competitive tender bid and attained project completion on the original program date. This was a fantastic achievement given; adverse weather conditions, unexpected contaminated waste removal, subcontractors unable to attend site in local lockdowns and vast additional works added by the F.A. 🏟️ In line with F.A. regulations a perimeter fence was installed to restrict unauthorised use and access of the venue. 🔓 Last week marked the official reopening of this Kent-based library. 🎀 The library was officially reopened with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Mayor of Bromley, Councillor David Jeffreys and the Baroness of Beckenham, Floella Benjamin. Even Stella the cat was in attendance! 📚 Longley were appointed as the main contractor to complete the refurbishment works. This was a 6-month project and will now have a great impact on the wider community. 🚧 An essential refurbishment was carried out, including the removal of hazardous and end-of-life materials, as well as installing new energy efficient windows and insulation, and major mechanical and electrical works. A new publicly accessible toilet with baby changing facilities has been installed, along with increased provision of study spaces. Additionally, the children’s library has been expanded with a bespoke mural installed. 🙌 After completing Phase 1 of a roof replacement job ahead of schedule and within budget, we’re thrilled to announce that Longley has been awarded Phase 2 by our London local authority client! 🚧 We’re now five weeks into Phase 2 at this secondary school, and progress is moving full speed ahead. This week, we’ve made major strides, finishing the substructure for the temporary roof, and setting the stage for the next phase of installing roof sheets. ✅ The new roof will provide numerous benefits for the school. With enhanced insulation and energy efficiency, the building will become more comfortable year-round, while significantly reducing heating and cooling costs. The upgraded roof will also improve the overall safety of the school, preventing leaks and damage that could disrupt daily activities.
