About us
Lumo conceptualises our commitment to our customers individual wellbeing combining all elements of physical, spiritual, corporal, emotional and social being to ensure that any journey with us leaves you positively ready. It combines fresh thinking and innovation as luminosity (Lu) and the essence of travel to which it is relevant as motion (mo) Creating our brand name Lumo. We are a new movement, reimagining travel for a world where sustainability matters, everyone is welcome and will be treated fairly and with respect, without being charged a premium. Without people, our trains are just big new bits of (extremely energy efficient and beautifully designed) machinery.

We have joined forces with Metrocentre Network Rail Rail Safe Friendly and Out North East to raise awareness about the dangers of trespassing. Throughout the summer, Lumo will take over Metrocentre’s mini express train, reminding families and children to stay safe near railway tracks. 👉 Find out more about this life-saving initiative through this link https://bit.ly/3YozGEA

The Olympics might be here, but there's no gold medal for stepping over this line! Let's keep each other safe by staying behind the yellow line at railway stations. Enter or exit a station platform at the designated areas #StaySafeAndStandBack

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Metrocentre Pride Event last Saturday in Gateshead. We had an incredible time with Out North East connecting with so many of you, celebrating diversity in the North East, and having meaningful discussions about rail safety. If you missed us on Saturday, you can still catch the Lumo Express Train at Metrocentre at Platinum Mall, which will be available until the end of summer.

Safety first! There are no medals for crossing this line, but staying behind the yellow line at railway stations keeps you in the race. Always stay behind yellow lines at railway stations to stay safe from departing and passing trains. Only enter or exit a station platform at the designated areas. #StaySafeAndStandBack
