Hello gorgeous... welcome to the wonderful world of Lush

About us

Since establishing in 1995 in Poole, Dorset, Lush has been driven by innovation and its ethics. Creators of pioneering beauty products such as the fizzing bath bomb, shower jellies and solid shampoo bars, we place emphasis on fresh ingredients like organic fruits and vegetables, fight against animal testing and combat over-packaging by developing products that can be sold ‘naked’ to the customer without any packaging. We currently operate in 52 countries with 928 global shops. Through our separate business divisions we invent, manufacture and sell our handmade products direct to our customers through our own shops and online. The fact that we make all our products by hand is something we are really rather proud of! Lush is 10% Employee Owned since 2017 and our people are the heart and soul of our business. In the UK we currently have offices located in Poole, Dorset and Soho, London.

Today is #WorldRecyclingDay and we are happy to support the Great British Beauty Clean Up, beauty’s first cross-industry collaboration to reduce the impact of packaging in the UK with joint activities for the month of March. Culture change requires everyone! With 86% of beauty packaging not getting recycled, many brands, retailers, salon and industry professionals came together to empower customers with the knowledge they need to manage their empties correctly. 🛀 Go #naked - experiment with Lush products that are package-free. 🗑️ Separate your bathroom waste correctly. ♻️ For items you can't recycle locally, use the collaborative map below showing take-back locations for major UK beauty brands. Remember, with #Lush's Bring it Back scheme, you get 50p off your shopping for each item of plastic packaging you return to our stores! Find out more or find your closest take-back point on the British Beauty Council's website: https://lnkd.in/ejvRBA3f Dreamt up by the Sustainable Beauty Coalition #TheGreatBritishBeautyCleanUp #BeautyCleanUp

☘️ In celebration of St Patrick's Day today, did you know that Lush has launched a range for the first time? Available online and in shops in Ireland and the UK, the collection is inspired by the celebration of Celtic symbols of tradition and folklore. The range is part of Lush’s ‘Co-Create’ programme, a product creation programme for Lush employees which aims to promote diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging by lifting up authentic stories from respective communities. Carrie Mullan from Lush Belfast and Connaill Crawford from Lush Newry are Lush’s co-creators for this range. Connaill Crawford from Lush Newry co-created The Craic Bath Bomb: “Craic [pronounced krak] is an Irish word for fun, and the most fun event in Ireland is time spent at a local pub enjoying a drink, music and friends. I wanted to create a bath bomb that captured all three. Many years ago I sat with friends in an old pub, where we shared stories, listened to the band play and were warmed by the hearth. I remember pausing and looking round the table and feeling a warmth like no other. The warmth of community and the music of the many is at the core of Irish culture and this bath bomb will give that warmth to everyone.” Discover the collection online: https://lnkd.in/e3rnEPAK View the press release: https://lnkd.in/edtmKiy6 Find your local Lush shop: https://lnkd.in/eWV-rxPf

Social media was meant to bring people together—but in reality, it’s become a battleground. Freedom of Speech or Freedom to Hate? That’s the question we’re tackling at SXSW 2025. At Lush, we took a stand by stepping away from major social media platforms—not because we wanted to disappear, but because we refused to engage in spaces that profit from harm, addiction, and misinformation. In an era where platforms replace fact-checkers with community notes and prioritize engagement over truth, the question isn’t just about free speech—it’s about responsibilty. In this panel, I’ll be discussing the real impact of unregulated social media, why businesses must think beyond algorithms, and how we can foster ethical digital spaces. Join me on Sunday, March 9, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM (GMT-5) in The Line at SXSW as we navigate this critical debate. #SXSW #EthicalTech #SocialMedia #FreedomOfSpeech #DigitalResponsibility #Lush

Leaving the world Lusher than we found it. Opinions are obviously my own.

Today, in a few hours, I am excited to join UN Environment Programme, Minamata Convention on Mercury and the Geneva Environment Network on panel to unmask mercury and colorism in cosmetics. "Hundreds of millions of people globally use skin-lightening products (SLPs). The use of SLPs is promoted by media, advertising and marketing that often reinforce the bias that a lighter skin tone is more desirable than darker skin tone. The bias is rooted in systemic colorism that promotes harmful stereotypes that associate lighter skin with beauty and better prospects of employment, marriage and social standing." Key points: • Many skin lightening products contain dangerous ingredients like mercury, steroids, and hydroquinone. • The Minamata Convention recently eliminated the 1 ppm threshold for mercury in cosmetics • Despite progress, awareness of health risks remains insufficient • Social media and marketing continue to embed harmful beauty standards I will speak about LUSH's stance on beauty stereotypes and standards, our research on the role of social media and have a conversation on how to use the power of brands to tackle colorism. Excited to be speaking at UK House @ SXSW on Mar 8th at 5pm about ‘The Future of the Bathroom’—a look at how the bathroom remains the last sacred space in our homes dedicated to solitude and sanctuary. At Lush, we believe in elevating this space beyond function, creating immersive self-care experiences that incorporate music, light, and technology. From BathBot to sensory-driven rituals, we’re shaping the future of relaxation and well-being. Even more exciting, Treya Lam—featured on the new Lush album ‘In the Bath’—will be performing live as the first artist in our ‘Bathroom Sessions’ series, launching at SXSW. Join me at UK House as we explore how design, technology, and creativity can transform the most personal space in our lives. Looking forward to the conversation! #SxSW #UKHouse #UKatSxSW #TheFutureOfTheBathroom #Lush #SelfCareInnovation #BathroomSessions

Today is World #Wildlife Day! We share this amazing 🌎 with the most incredible creatures. Unfortunately, as the often-quoted Bar-on et al (2018) study evidenced, only 4% of mammals are wild by biomass, 62% are sentient mammals stuck in mostly industrial farming, and the rest are humans. At LUSH we aim to support efforts to make peace between humans and the wild. In this short talk, from 2023, I explain a little bit of what we are doing and how we are doing it. For an economy that support wildlife!

Have you heard about LUSH's latest baa-rilliant collaboration? As a long time Aardman fan, I was so excited about this - Shaun The Sheep X Lush Just as the claymation experts at Aardman create their amazing animations by hand, we have created a truly special handmade product range. I popped down to our ballistics department to see our lovely presser Gosia, who was kind enough to give a behind the scenes look at how we press our Shaun The Sheep bath bomb. 🐑 #manufacturing #ukmanufacturing #handmade
