Some very special guests were present at the M&C office yesterday🤩 The talented group of University of Greenwich students will be around the office for the coming months as they take part in the latest Ideas Lab programme. We wish them all the best and can’t wait to see what they get up to!
Senior lecturer, programme leader, practice-based creative advertising researcher, art director, author
Does it get better for the 2nd year Creative Advertising students from the School of Design from the University of Greenwich than an afternoon spent with Guy Bradbury, Holly Sutton-Williams and Zoe Miller at M&C Saatchi UK? So happy to see another year of students on the creative floor after co-designing this with M&C Saatchi UK. This years Ideas Lab briefs have begun! #CreativeAdvertising #MediaCommunications #VisualCommunications #WomenInAdvertising #codesign #advertising #industrypartnerships #bigideas #CreativeThinking #SchoolofDesign #universityofgreenwich

Strategists Maya Rampal and Nicole Wyatt sat down with Creativebrief to discuss the intersection between inclusion and business growth. "A brand can choose to stay stuck in the past, creating marketing strategies that reflect what society was. Or it can be aspirational - representing the world as they, and their consumers, want to see it". Read the full article here 📃: https://lnkd.in/ePZ4WXEp

🥇 It's survival of the boldest, not the fittest 🥇 "Brand owners need to remember that every encounter they create with a brand is an opportunity to refresh memory structures and create positive memories and associations, making a brand worthy of being stored in the first place". Advertising can change the world!! 🌍 This was the topic of M&C Saatchi UK's Open House webinar, giving #insight 💡 into how the world can be shaped by marketing and advertising. ✨ Between 2011 and 2018 UK's average monthly #cigarette #consumption decreased by 120M. A combination of factors including: - Price increases - Legislation nudges, including where you can smoke and where you can buy - Branding removed from cigarette packs and replaced with an 'ugly' colour - Great marketing and multiple campaigns - not one silver bullet Stopping smoking is a great example of where #multiple #campaigns were necessary : 🌻 Stoptober - need support/goal, quit over a 28 day period 🌻Quit Smoking and Breath Easier - focusing on the positive benefit 🌻 If you Smoke, I Smoke - who care about harm to other people 🌻 Tips From Former Smokers - shock, the gory realities Over a decade we can see the #social #norm changed. Smoking isn't as attractive as it was 50 years ago and the UK is smoking less. ✅ My 3 key take aways: 1️⃣ Leverage the impact great marketing can have on consumer behaviour 2️⃣ Multiple campaigns resonating with different audiences is necessary 3️⃣ Messager effect: a trusted, respected, higher authority is needed In the case of smoking, the NHS and Public Health England What can the #plantbased sector take from this? A big shout out to Marcus Peffers and Alice Marsh for a brilliant presentation. Loved the polls! Tom Firth, Micha L exciting times!

We were really excited that M&C Saatchi Group was highlighted as one of the two case studies in Purpose Disruptors’ report on Advertised and Serviced Emissions, published at New York Climate Week. This is part of the UN Race to Zero’s work on understanding the role of professional services providers (PSPs) in accelerating climate action. We are very much at the beginning of our journey in adopting the guidance from Race to Zero and are calling on other industry players to join us on the journey.
