Happy International Data Centre Day!! 🎉 The European data centre market in 2024 presented some significant transactions - too many to mention, but here's a snapshot of the most notable developments: AtlasEdge's Expansion into Lisbon: AtlasEdge marked its entry into the Portuguese market by acquiring two adjacent sites in Lisbon's Carnaxide area. The planned development will deliver over 20MW of IT load QTS Data Centers's Landmark Acquisition in Northumberland: QTS, under the ownership of Blackstone, acquired a 250-acre site in Cambois, Northumberland, with plans to develop a hyperscale data centre campus. The proposed development includes up to ten data centre buildings, totaling approximately 540,000 square meters and delivering around 1.1GW of IT capacity. Asterion Industrial Partners and Telefónica's Sale of Nabiax: Asterion Industrial Partners and Telefónica agreed to sell their Spanish data centre operator, Nabiax, to European asset manager Aermont Capital. While financial terms were undisclosed, sources previously estimated Nabiax's value to be around €1 billion. And finally, not a deal that was completed in 2024, but I didn't want to be the only one not to mention it... Pure Data Centres Group partnered with SEGRO plc to develop a £1 billion fully fitted data centre in Park Royal, West London. This 50:50 joint venture combines SEGRO's prime industrial land with Pure DC's technical expertise. The report gives an overview of the annual survey results, and combines our extensive database to provide you with robust salary benchmarking in your specialism.      U.K. Data Highlights: 🔹 This year we have calculated the ‘bonus gap’ comparing maximum bonus entitlements vs. bonus actually paid in 2024-25 – this gap is 41%. 🔹 Two in ten said their pay increased as a ‘cost of living/inflation adjustment’ averaging a 4.3% rise. 🔹 Both the gender and ethnicity pay gap has narrowed to 17% and 10% respectively. However, the gender pay gap increases when looking at highest earners at the 75th percentile (21% gap) and 95th percentile (27%). 🔹 The U.K. is the most pessimistic about their economy this year with a third unconfident/very unconfident in 2025. 🔹 C Suite and Senior Directors are the most optimistic in the industrial/logistics and residential sectors
