About us

Our Make Life Kind movement was founded in 2021 in response to the mental health pandemic, following the COVID-19 lockdowns. Through our sponsor company Milk Education, we were in conversations with our teachers & education leaders who were not only struggling with their own mental health and the post lockdown pressure - but noticing how the pandemic was impacting their young people too. The increase in youth mental health problems was also linked to online bullying, lack of diversity awareness, and the negative impact of the social media ‘influencer’. This is where our positive ‘Milkfluencer’ was born… a direct positive reaction to the media. We are delivering inspiring school speakers (Milkfluencers) that drive wellness, diversity and safety awareness into schools and local communities… What started as a solely mental health focused group, has developed into the Make Life Kind movement as we know now… covering a wide range of stigmatised topics in education, such as: Knife Crime / Drug Crime Racism LGBTQ2+ / Identity Neurodiversity (ADHD/AUTISM/OCD) Mental Health Disabilities Grief & Trauma Creative careers Diversity & Inclusion And much more! On a mission to make these topics part of the national curriculum in the UK, and help schools: Become an anti-racist school Gain their rainbow-flag status Fight stigmas & prevent bullying

A survey as part of the Be Real campaign found that 79% of 11–16-year-olds believe looks are important to them with 52% often worrying about how they look. 10% of secondary school boys surveyed even said they would consider taking steroids to achieve their goals. A report by stem4, a youth mental health charity, found that around 75% of children as young as 12 dislike their bodies and are embarrassed by the way they look. Hating your body shouldn’t be the norm for anyone, and especially not for children. Our school speaker Jonny Landels tackles this issue head-on with his powerful, engaging assemblies and workshops. If you know that pupils are struggling with body image and want them to have a healthier mindset when it comes to looking after their bodies, book Jonny for your school! DM us for more information. 📩

Our Charity Lead Loti Nambombe recently met with representatives from Nacoa UK. 🤝 Nacoa (National Association for Children of Alcoholics) help people who have been affected by a parent’s drinking or other addictions. 1 in 5 children in the UK are affected by their parents’ drinking, and the impact of this can last into adulthood. This can be a very isolating and difficult issue for people to talk about, and it’s important that we continue to keep the conversation going and stop stigma around this. We hope to collaborate further with Nacoa to help support this crucial cause and provide young people and adults with the support they need to manage their mental health. 💪 DM us today to learn more about our school speakers and collaborating with us! 📩
