As an organisation, what initiatives have you planned for your male employees this November? Throughout the year, you may have focused on female health issues such as menopause and breast cancer, often accompanied by successful events filled with tea and cakes. While these are crucially important, have you also planned sessions around men’s health? Have your campaigns worked? What didn’t work so well? Raising awareness about male mental and physical health in the workplace is vital. On average, a person in the UK will spend approximately 3,507 days at work over their lifetime, which is nearly 10 years. In the UK, the life expectancy for men is 78.6 years, compared to 82.6 years for women. Men often prioritise work over their health, leading to presenteeism, where they are physically present but not fully productive due to health issues. This can have a more detrimental impact on organizations than absenteeism caused by illness. It’s not too late to work with us and take advantage of the limited availability we have this November.
