Throwback to summer of 2020! An original format by the founders of MARS Volume, Bild Studios, 'Masterpiece' was a self-funded project shot in our proof-of-concept "MARS 1" VP studio in Canada Water, London, during the summer of 2020. It places British art historian, BBC presenter and BAFTA nominated broadcaster, Dr James Fox inside the virtual 3D representation of Edward Hopper's Nighthawks - his famous 1942 oil on canvas painting that portrays four people in a downtown diner late at night as viewed through the diner's window. The team from Bild worked closely with Dr James Fox and the creative team at @tem.studio to develop the forensic-artistic storyline, re-imagine how a painting could exist as a three-dimensional world which allowed us to reveal insights and perspectives into the painting that had simply never been possible before.
