It was a fantastic day at DigiGov Expo yesterday. Another highlight was hearing Sumitra Varma, Christopher Varrall MBE and Mark Charlton talk about how they’ve been exploring ways in which data, from a whole range of sources across government, could be used to proactively identify potential cases of modern slavery. It was a great example of both cross-departmental collaboration and an innovative use of data from across the public sector. #DigiGovExpo

With so much noise around public sector digital, we wanted to really understand what's happening around government data in 2024. Check out our new deep-dive report - UK Government Data Maturity 2024: https://lnkd.in/gtS4mCKW We spoke to public sector and industry DDaT leaders to understand how they're using data now and future plans for progress. The report features case studies and best practice, as well as insights into the technical and cultural challenges that can still hold back transformation. Our thanks go to our contributing leaders and agencies who shared their insights, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, our project partner: Fiona James, Chief Data Officer at Office for National Statistics Stephanie Howarth, Chief Statistician at Llywodraeth / Welsh Government Rosa Alonso, Lead Analyst at Cabinet Office Paula Lender-Swain (She/Her), Director UKI Public Sector at Hewlett Packard Enterprise

We’re thrilled to announce that our team (alongside our data specialist partners at Register Dynamics) delivering a replacement for the StatsWales data publishing platform have passed their Alpha service assessment! It was our first assessment against the Welsh Digital Service Standard with the Centre for Digital Public Services / Canolfan Gwasanaethau Cyhoeddus Digidol, and the team are thrilled to be recognised for delivering quality services specifically for Wales. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone we’ve been working closely with, including our colleagues across the Welsh government, stakeholders across the Welsh data landscape and all the user research participants across Wales, who’ve contributed their insight and experience into this project. Not long now until Private Beta! #DigitalTransformation #WelshGovernment
