"It took me to be at my lowest point before I decided to reach out. I realise now how important it is to ask for help. It’s not an embarrassment, and it’s not being weak. If it wasn’t for the MCF, I would not be here today" said Mark. 💬 Today is Time to Talk Day, an event created by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness to get more people talking about mental wellbeing. We will be participating in this through our managers hosting various events for their respective teams to feel like they can talk openly.

We're looking for two medical practitioners to advise our Masonic Support Committee! 👀 One will be the lead medical adviser, providing input on a wide range of general medical grant applications. The other will be a mental health adviser. Both will provide input on medical grant applications and policy options to assist staff and the Chairman of the Committee. Applicants must be medical professionals in a relevant field to the MCF’s work. Grants may cover a wide range of treatments so breadth of experience is important. ✉️ To apply, email Gareth Everett on geverett@mcf.org.uk by 5pm on Friday 28 February with a CV and short covering letter, which should set out your experience, qualifications and contributions relevant to the role and your motivations for joining the Committee. ☕ Today is Blue Monday, also coined as Brew Monday by mental health charity Samaritans Sadly, many people still find it hard to talk about how they really feel, especially to their managers or within their workplace. In a recent survey commissioned by Mind one in five people admitted to taking a day off work due to stress. However, 90 per cent of these people gave another reason for their absence. At the MCF and the RMBI, we want all our staff to feel comfortable discussing their stress levels or mental health with their managers, by creating safe environments and encouraging open conversations. Our staff also have access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) if they need additional help. Here's what one of our staff members had to say about their experience with the counselling service. #BlueMonday #BrewMonday #StaffWellbeing #MentalHealth
