✨ My reflections on NVIDIA AI Summit India 2024 ✨ The excitement at the Jio World Convention Centre was palpable, with long queues forming even before the conference began, showcasing the heightened interest in #AI, #GenAI, and NVIDIA advancements. It was inspiring to see young tech enthusiasts from engineering colleges engaging with AI, reflecting the collaboration between academia, industry, and corporate leaders. Key Takeaways: 1. Keynote Highlights 🗣️: Jensen Huang’s fireside chat emphasized India’s rising role in AI. Mukesh Ambani called for upskilling the workforce to shape the future of AI. An exchange between Akshay Kumar and Jensen on martial arts highlighted discipline as essential for tech innovators. 2. Software 2.0: A New Paradigm 💻: Software 2.0 shifts from traditional coding to programming by data, where computers generate code through machine learning, reshaping industries from healthcare to manufacturing. 3. Startup Pitching Session 🚀: The Inception session featured 10 startups, including Adya’s AI-ONDC in a box, AjnaLens’s AR/VR training, FitSol’s health tech, and Findout.ai’s analytics platform among others , showcasing AI’s real-world impact. 4. Key Exhibitors 🏢: Platinum sponsors like Yotta Data Services Private Limited @TataCommunications, Deloitte highlighted AI infrastructure, while gold sponsors such as #F5, @Z by HP, VAST and WEKA focused on hardware and data solutions. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala ‘s NVIDIA partnership will boost AI research, and startups like BHASHINI and Sarvam presented language translation and voice AI. 5. Made-in-India PCs 🇮🇳: A major initiative was announced to launch PCs with NVIDIA RTX AI, manufactured by six Indian companies to empower developers and AI practitioners. The conference offered opportunities to interact with experts, panelists, and VCs, delving into AI’s evolving landscape, challenges to Moore’s Law, agentic AI platforms, and multi-modal solutions, highlighting AI’s rapid technological progress. The summit was an excellent platform for learning, networking, and sharing insights. Kudos to NVIDIA for uniting academia, startups, and corporates to shape the future of technology. 🌍💡 P.S. Will Hopson-Hill, Director of Digital Transformation, is presenting London Metropolitan University's rapid journey to Oracle Cloud at the Oracle Higher Education usergroup on 29th October. Working in a very close collaborative partnership with the Mastek implementation team and Oracle, the project originally commenced in May 2023, it was divided it into two phases: firstly HR and Payroll, then Finance. Within 12 months, they successfully went live on HR and Payroll, followed by Finance just three months later! There were a number of key factors that led to this success that spanned from the whole programme governance through to the working relationship and close collaboration with their chosen Systems Integration partner Mastek. This session will very much focus on the lessons learned throughout the programme, how you can manage your way through the challenges that will come up and how you can manage the collaboration between the University team, Oracle and Mastek. Next level. 🔥One team went all out with Best out of Waste, linked to our ESG goals! ♻️ Another team made Torans with our #VECTOR core values (talk about dedication!). And then—wait for it—there was a Peacock Fusion design that blew us all away & the one with firecrackers oh my god! 🦚💥Talk about lighting things up! 🎇   The floor was buzzing with energy. So many ideas, so much colours, and we clapped like never before. 🙌   Huge shoutout to everyone who participated—you made this Diwali unforgettable!
