Attendance in schools is improving, but persistent absence has a huge impact and there’s still work to be done 🚸 In today's Association of School and College Leaders speech, the Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson outlined ways the government is tackling attendance as part of its Plan for Change. Last week, we attended the Multi Academy Trust Association (MATA) Conference and Awards Dinner. We were nominated for ‘The Green Trust Award.’ A testament to everything that the Eco Stewards in our twelve schools have worked collaboratively on over the last year. ♻️ We didn’t win this time, but we’ll be back! It was lovely to be a part of all the amazing work going on across such a range of amazing Trusts.

Last week we attended the Multi Academy Trust Association (MATA) National Conference and Awards evening. It was great to hear from many fabulous Trust Leaders at the conference who were generous enough to share their journey, insights, and top tips and failures! We were nominated for two awards and up against some tough competition! No wins for us this year but a real privilege to be nominated and recognised for our hard work and commitment within the sector. We also got some fab photos and made some brilliant memories! Last week we attended the Multi Academy Trust Association (MATA) national conference and awards evening. We were delighted that Embark Federation had been shortlisted for four categories and honoured to have won two of those amongst such fabulous trusts. We were especially pleased to win the Community Trust of the Year award as this is something we place such importance on at Embark and our vision is ‘to create stand out schools at the heart of their communities.’ I was also privileged to receive the CEO of the year award from Jen Elliott which I accepted on behalf of the brilliant people I have surrounded myself with. It was also lovely to spend time with sponsors of the evening such as EPM Ltd and L.E.A.D. IT Services and see many friends of Embark as always. Thank you so much Matt McDermott and team for organising such a wonderful event. Congratulations to all the winners of the awards at the Multi Academy Trust Association (MATA) event this week. So many inspiring people in the room doing incredible things for their pupils and communities. It was an honour to be with you all and to celebrate the power of Multi Academy Trusts in securing better futures for so many children. On this occasion PIONEER LEARNING TRUST didn't take home an award but I am incredibly proud of the work that we do in the Pursuit of Excellence and Equity.
