Today, we’ve launched our new #JustDont campaign, asking men and boys across West Yorkshire to help us put an end to everyday harassment and inappropriate behaviour towards women and girls. With Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture leading the way, West Yorkshire is set for an incredible year.   Hosting major events like the yesterday's Summit gives businesses the chance to showcase their talent and attract new investment.   I was proud to share how we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure our creative sector thrives, creates jobs and drives economic growth.

We are determined to build a safer, fairer West Yorkshire for everyone. At an event to mark Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week, I spoke to students at the University of Leeds and answered their questions on: ◾ The work we’re doing to tackle sexual violence and abuse ◾ The support available to victims and survivors ◾ And how we’re working with West Yorkshire Police to bring perpetrators to justice   #SASVAW

Thrilled to be at 10 Downing Street yesterday evening, championing West Yorkshire as a hub of innovation and investment. AI is already transforming lives here - such as LIBRA, the AI tool revolutionising breast cancer detection at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. By harnessing technology like this, we can grow our economy, strengthen communities, and change lives.

In West Yorkshire, our diversity is our strength.   This month and every month, we stand with our LGBTQIA+ community, to reflect on the past, celebrate achievements, and recognise their vital contributions to our society. 🏳️🌈   #LGBTplusHM25

Today, we say goodbye to the great man, John Prescott.   His trailblazing legacy lives on, and his tireless work to tackle inequality continues to provide inspiration for so many.   As he is laid to rest, our thoughts are with his friends and family.

This Chancellor understands that Mayors are crucial to growing the economy.   Our West Yorkshire Growth Plan will create more jobs and put more money into people's pockets.
