We need inspiring mentors to support young people across Glasgow! By dedicating just one hour per week, you can become a volunteer mentor with MCR Pathways and positively impact the lives of young people in your community. You don’t need any prior experience, just a genuine desire to make a difference. For just one hour a week, you can help improve a young person’s confidence, keep them engaged in school, and empower them to believe in themselves. Mentoring not only has a life-changing impact on young people but also brings numerous benefits to mentors themselves. By giving just one hour per week, volunteers can gain a sense of fulfilment, personal growth, and the opportunity to develop valuable skills. Your guidance could be the reason a young person stays in school and believes in their potential. Ready to make an impact? Before becoming a mentor, Malcolm wondered if he was the right fit. Was he too young? Did he have enough life experience? But he soon realised that mentoring isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about being there for a young person. A year into mentoring, Malcolm has seen a remarkable transformation in his mentee. Once quiet and withdrawn, he is now confident, outgoing, and more optimistic about his future. Every young person deserves someone who listens, encourages, and believes in them. That support can make all the difference. Could you be that person for a young person in a school local to you? MCR Pathways reposted this
Together with MCR Pathways colleagues Josh Morris, Sharon McIntyre and Melodie Crumlin, it was a privilege to deliver a session at #SCVOGathering to an engaged audience, about the power of mentoring and driving impact through meaningful relationships. Organised by SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations), The Gathering is the largest free voluntary sector event in the UK. Day 1 was incredible and I'd highly recommend attending Day 2 today if you can! Our valued partners are integral in ensuring we can support young people on our programme across the UK to achieve their potential, no matter their circumstances. We were thrilled to be joined by Scottish Water, Police Scotland and Robertson Group, who shared first hand what partnering with MCR Pathways means to their organisations and staff, and how collectively, we can create a positive and lasting impact in our communities. I extend my personal thanks and on behalf of MCR Pathways for your engaging and insightful contributions. If you'd like to find out more about becoming a volunteer mentor or for further information about how partnering with MCR Pathways can support your organisation to fulfil its CSR initiatives, get in touch and let's chat! susan.buglass@mcrpathways.org MCR Pathways Scottish Water Police Scotland Robertson Group Wendy Alletson Mark Henderson Sharon McIntyre Melodie Crumlin Josh Morris Natalie S. #CommunityImpact #MakeADifference #Charity
