About us

Media Trust works in partnership with the media and creative industry to give charities, young people and underrepresented communities a stronger voice. We do this through our skills-based volunteering, communications training and capacity building programmes and connecting leading media and creative professionals with charities and underrepresented communities across the UK. By bridging the gap between the media industry and broader society we aim to contribute to a more responsible, represented and connected media sector and ultimately a more socially cohesive Britain.

Last week, some of our lucky Media Trust and Amazon Ads 'Kickstart your Career' mentees had the incredible opportunity to get hands-on, paid work experience at Amazon Ads' offices in London! 💼 Throughout this action-packed week, Betsy, Stefan, Jessica, Elle, Victoria, Mike, Lucy and Umar immersed themselves in Amazon Ads’ diverse departments and product offerings, shadowing their mentors across different teams and responsibilities. The mentees took part in modules focused on employability skills and even received leadership lessons from Phil Christer (Managing Director of Amazon Ads UK), gaining valuable guidance and industry knowledge. The week ended with our mentees being tasked to create a strategic response to a live customer brief, which they then presented to a panel of Amazon Ads experts - showcasing their growing skills and adaptability! This experience was an inspiring opportunity for our mentees to learn, connect and sharpen their skills, bringing them one step closer to successful advertising careers. A huge thank you to Kieran Walker, Becky Barton, Jo Simovic, Sharanpal Kaur and everyone at Amazon Ads for making this a successful and fruitful week for our wonderful mentees! We are lucky have such determined corporate partners, committed to ensuring the advertising world is accessible to those from working class and less advantaged socioeconomic backgrounds. 💙
