As October wraps up, Mediation NI is excited to reflect on a month filled with engaging events, particularly during Mediation Week. Here’s a recap of our activities: MII Annual Conference (October 18-19): We participated in this significant event in Belfast, themed "Broadening Our Perspective on Mediation." The conference featured esteemed speakers, including Baroness Cathy Ashton, and offered practical sessions that enhanced our understanding of mediation in various contexts. Workplace Mediation Management Course (October 22): Held at the stunning Belfast Castle, this one-day course focused on the essential skills needed for effective workplace mediation. Participants gained insights into managing conflicts and fostering a collaborative work environment. Workplace Mediation Seminar (October 16): This seminar at Magee College highlighted the financial impact of workplace conflict and showcased mediation as a key solution. Attendees learned strategies to address disputes effectively and reduce costs associated with conflict. Shared Island Mediation Forum (October 17): This forum gathered mediators from across the island to discuss collaborative approaches to conflict resolution. It was a valuable opportunity for networking and sharing best practices. Mediation Theory & Practice Course (October 3): Kicking off the month, we hosted an 8-day course aimed at enhancing participants' skills and understanding of mediation theory and practice. Thank you to everyone who joined us for these events and contributed to the vital discussions around mediation with special thanks to Ulster University, The Labour Relations Agency, The CIPD in Northern Ireland and The Mediators' Institute Of Ireland. Together, we are making strides in promoting effective conflict resolution within our communities. Here’s to continued growth and learning in the months ahead! #MediationNI #MediationWeek #ConflictResolution

Great article from Business Eye Magazine from yesterdays event, The Value of Workplace Mediation: Cutting the Cost of Conflict at Ulster University in Derry/Londonderry which highlighted the importance of mediation for Northern Ireland companies! Mediation is a powerful tool that helps resolve disputes quickly and effectively, saving both time and money while maintaining positive relationships. At Mediation NI, we’re committed to helping businesses cut the cost of conflict and foster a more harmonious workplace. Whether it’s resolving workplace disagreements, larger organisational challenges, mediation offers a practical, impartial solution. In addition to resolving conflicts, it’s also about building awareness within your organisation and providing training to equip teams with the skills to manage and prevent disputes effectively. We’re grateful to Ulster University, The CIPD in Northern Ireland, and Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) for their contributions in making this a successful gathering. It was an engaging and informative session, with plenty of valuable insights and new connections made.
