Every challenge is an opportunity in disguise! Faced with a bridge closure for emergency repairs restricting HGV access to one of our sites our own Volvo Beaver Tail was quickly repurposed and used to keep the timber flowing to a local small firewood business who is dependent on the supply. I’m really proud of the Metsa Limited team for their hustle and customer gives this week. Well done Gary Bullen, Alex Balbi and Naka Sosi for getting this sorted ✔️

Over the last month we have been working closely with Walton Logging to develop and train our skills and capabilities by taking on their Skyling equipment and operation. Its a real leap forward in our capability which will perfectly augment our Menzi Muck AG, TimberMAX steep ground offer. Mechanically felling and now extracting timber on steep ground! More Daddy long legs than Spider 🕷️! Our Menzi Muck AG M545X conducting some SPHN diseased Larch felling for Scottish Woodlands Ltd on a constrained and steep site. Fitted with a OMEF-GROUP Srl shear, the branches are stripped and the whole and half trees windrowed ready for replanting. The process minimises the impact on surrounding Sitka spruce whilst achieving the forester’s aim.

Thank you to Scottish Land & Estates and Officers' Association Scotland for organising last night’s rural insight event. The excellent speakers demonstrated both the breadth and diversity of opportunities in rural Scotland and the amazing skill set possessed by veterans. A match made in heaven.
