The specialists for custom built minibuses
About us
We specialise in wheelchair accessible minibuses and are proud to produce some of the best accessible vehicles in the UK. We aim to provide the customer with the most suitable vehicle for their needs, within their given budget. We sell to schools, local authorities, charities, community transport groups and private individuals. Established in 1986, we pride ourselves in the depth of knowledge and experience that we can offer. Our customers are the most important people in the world to us and we do our upmost to satisfy the most exacting standards. Please don't just take our word for it, find out for yourselves. Most vehicles we supply are built to order, which might take five or six months. We stock a selection of base vehicles in assorted colours, which can reduce the delivery period to two months. We also stock a limited number of finish built minibuses, to meet urgent requirements - see our stock list. With the advent of Type Approval for minibuses it is now more important than ever to buy from an experienced trusted source.

We've seen some great videos by Community Transport Operators this week celebrating #CTWeek24 This one is compiled of footage from when we followed Bakewell CT on one of their trips out. It's a few years old now but the minibus is still out there working hard, as is the driver who is featured. #Communitytransport #Communityservice #minibus #accessible

Electrifying Community Transport The whole automotive industry is undergoing one of the most significant changes since the move from horses to cars powered by internal combustion engines. We are somewhere on an “S curve” which ends at a point in the not too distant future with complete adoption of zero emission transportation. In Cars the last 10 years has seen continual iterations of improved batteries, shorter charging times, lower pricing. Commercial vehicles, which represent the majority of vehicles operated by Community Transport are some way behind, though improving incrementally with each revised model. Smaller accessible vehicles known as WAVs have been adopted successfully by numerous Community Transport operators. That said, base vehicle manufacturers are yet to produce suitable platforms at the heavier end of the vehicle spectrum, meaning either that the only answer is diesel, or that there is a compromise to be made in the way that a vehicle is operated and ultimately how a transport service is delivered. For any operator there may only be one or two buying cycles before there is no other choice than to buy a zero emission vehicle. Manufacturers are targeted to increase year on year the percentage of electric vehicles being sold, with huge financial penalties for those who fail to comply. In addition to this more and more funders insist that recipients only buy an electric vehicle. Whilst the road ahead will provide many challenges to Community Transport operators, this also represents an opportunity for the sector to become a focal point for Central Government and Local Authorities who seek to reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality whilst at the same time supporting our Communities to stay connected, healthy and prosperous. #CTWeek24 #CommunityTransport #Minibus #ElectricVehicles
