💚 A journey of care, support, and involvement In the early, fragile days of their son’s life, the Brock family found themselves in the care of Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's incredible Neonatal (NNU) team. Each day was filled with uncertainty, but it was the unwavering support, skill, and compassion of the staff that gave them strength. For the Brocks, it was more than just medical care—it was hope in the hardest moments. Now, with their son thriving, the Brock family made a remarkable decision: to donate £8,000 to the very unit that helped their little boy and family. We can't thank Samantha and Craig enough for their generosity, and for sharing their story and precious photographs. Remember in August we shared the exciting news of Flashmob MK Group's first-of-a-kind Flashmob Festival? 💃 This was a unique event designed to raise money for projects aimed at enhancing staff wellbeing at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Here they are presenting a cheque of £1,144 to our charity team, represented by Kelly Errington, along with members of MKUH's super Staff Health & Wellbeing team: Rebecca (Becky) Bason (Head of Occupational Health), Lee Downes (Staff Workplace Advisor), Adam Byrne BSc (Hons) MCSP (Fast-track Physiotherapist), and Audrey Taylor (Occupational Health Specialist Practitioner). Our deepest thanks to Girish and Rupa for their incredible support and dedication. We’re so grateful for your partnership and can’t wait to collaborate on more amazing projects in the future! 💚 https://lnkd.in/gqq-cX24

Feel-good Friday 💚 🎶 The amazing 'Beyond the C' choir sung their hearts out this afternoon at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to help raise funds for the Milton Keynes Hospital Charity Radiotherapy Appeal. Fay Grech-Marguerat who runs the choir (seen in the video) says, "The Beyond the C choir is for people affected by cancer in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. All are welcome, whether an experienced opera singer or someone who just sings in the shower! The group meets monthly and has such a lovely atmosphere. Patients get so much from it too.” The group gets together on the last Friday of the month, 1-3pm at Kents Hill Community Centre (MK7 6HG). Thank you 'Beyond the C', take a bow! 👏 #Radiotherapy #Cancer #CancerSupport #Choir #FridayFeeling #CommunityGroups

Main Entrance at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been buzzing with fundraising activity today 💚 🎃 We had our fang-tastic Children's Emergency Department (ED) team hosting a spooktacular bake sale to raise money for a QV-600 Vein Finder. This portable vein finding device has various user-defined functions which can adapt to different ages, body shapes, skin colours, weights, and operating environments. Alongside the bake sale, they organised a raffle to win an impressive Halloween-themed cake, lovingly designed and created by MKUH's Dawn Collis. A monster-sized THANK YOU to our Children's ED team for your efforts, and to everyone who picked up a sweet treat and made a donation for the department. 🎹 Meanwhile, the wonderfully talented Judith Lodge played beautiful melodies on the hospital's piano. Judith has been a longstanding supporter of Milton Keynes Hospital Charity’s Radiotherapy Appeal through the sales of her own CD. Have a listen to Judith's music here: https://lnkd.in/eX7RC7iv If you'd like to make a donation to our Radiotherapy Appeal, or for a specific ward/department like Children's ED, head to: https://lnkd.in/d6BZwEr #Fundraising #ThankfulTuesday #TeamMKUH #MiltonKeynes #Community #Events #Supporters #NHSCharities

🌠 We've recently updated our Milton Keynes Hospital Charity Amazon Wishlist! Our paediatric wards (4 & 5), Milton Mouse, Outpatients, and Surgery teams have shared an updated list of items they would greatly appreciate for young patients and families. These include sensory items, crafting kits, colouring pencils, building blocks, toy figures, and much more. Patients in the hospital often face long, tough days, and the smallest comforts and distractions can make those days a little brighter. By purchasing items directly from our Amazon Wishlist, you can send gifts that bring joy and relief to those who need it most. All you need to do is add the item to your basket and it'll be shipped directly to our fundraising office. We'll then hand them out to the wards 💚. Every month, our Patient Experience Team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust collates all of the heartfelt compliments sent by grateful patients and families through various feedback channels, including 'My Thank You'. They make sure #TeamMKUH staff who receive these kind words are recognised for their contributions to enhancing patient care and experience, as well as demonstrating the Trust's values; WeCARE, WeCOMMUNICATE, WeCOLLABORATE, WeCONTRIBUTE. From the many compliments received, one outstanding individual is selected as the 'Compliment of the Month' winner. This person receives personal recognition and special thanks from our Chief Nurse. 🌟 This month's winner is midwife Charlotte Charles, pictured here receiving her award from Patient Experience Coordinator, Sharon White! 🌟 And what a lovely compliment she received through 'My Thank You'... "Thank you so much, for your dedication and caring nature. You went above and beyond to ensure that we had the birth we wanted and that all our wishes and concerns were heard, taken seriously and acted on. Our birth would not have been the same without you, you are a key and important part of my birth story." If you'd like to send a special message of thanks to a #TeamMKUH staff member or department, you can do so through 'My Thank You' here: https://lnkd.in/e_vN7BD3 #ThankYou #Gratitude #NHS #StaffRecognition #PatientExperience #Midwifery #BirthStory #Congratulations

Last week we were delighted to host a team of 19 people from locally-based NHBC. The team, supported by colleagues from Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's Estates team and Chapmans Building Services blitzed our physiotherapy garden, which desperately needed a tidy up. 👩🌾🌳🌿 Working throughout the day, they completely transformed the area, which is used not only by patients and visitors, but by staff too. Hazel Durham, senior engineer at NHBC who organised the group, was delighted with the end result. She said: “I hope that there are some sunny and dry autumnal days that the staff and physio patients get to enjoy the garden. The teams thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we are already having discussions about further dates, we had such a good time! Thank you for hosting us.” Brayden Williams, Therapies Operational Manager added: “Volunteering is such a vital resource here at MKUH, and this wouldn’t have happened without the generosity of these individuals, and their company, for spending the day with us. The garden is now looking great, and we’re sure patients, visitors, and staff will spend time enjoying the space.” #NHSCharities #NHBC #MiltonKeynes #CorporateVolunteering #CSR #GivingBack #VolunteeringDays #TransformationTuesday #MKHospital
