British politics is beginning to shake. The long-dominant two-party system, virtually unchallenged since the 1920s, could be on the verge of collapse and Reform is in the ascendancy. Recent YouGov polling places them just one point behind Labour and three ahead of the Conservatives. Bookmakers now favour Nigel Farage to be the next Prime Minister. The Corporate and Campaigns Unit at Montfort Communications believes that Reform UK’s growing influence makes it a critical consideration for any public affairs strategy in 2025. 🚨 Delighted to start the new year with several very exciting pieces of Montfort South Asia news! 💻 As of this afternoon, we are proud to say that our company website is now up-and-running. Here, you can find information about the range of reputation management, public relations and strategic consulting services that we provide, details of our existing clients and team: www.montfortsouthasia.com The brilliant Aamir Ali Shah was our designer and developer and a huge thanks to Phil Askham, Howard Martin and the rest of the team at Montfort Communications for their ongoing support. 💭 Secondly, we are launching our Montfort South Asia thought leadership series from today; Insights from Mumbai. Kicking off with a piece written by myself - titled "The Indian Century" - each month, we will publish analysis and cognisance on everything corporate, capital and consumer in India and the wider region. You can find our first piece on our website, which takes a broad look at the investment and macro opportunities in India in 2025, now. 📔 Thirdly, today also marks the launch of our dedicated LinkedIn page: Montfort South Asia. Do follow us here for regular updates on the company, including our in-person events, client wins and explainers on our offerings. You will be receiving an invite to the page, shortly. 🏢 As you can tell, it was a busy Christmas here at Montfort South Asia - we also navigated an office move into our new home, in Mumbai's Birla Centurion, carried out a hiring round to triple the number of staff in our Mumbai office and cemented our relationship with several new clients. 🇮🇳 Returning to India in June to set up the company, it has been non-stop ever since, as any Founder would attest to. It's rare I get a moment like today to reflect on the progress we've made. A day like today only further demonstrates how we are building something special here; I firmly believe that Montfort South Asia is well on the way to becoming one of the top communications consultancies in the region. A huge thank you, to all of you who have supported both the company and myself during these nascent months. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me (wallen@montfort.london) if you require assistance in 2025: - International Public Relations and Media Relations - Financial and Investor Relations - ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Relations - Crisis, Disputes and Employee Communications - Digital Communications and Data Analytics - Strategic Consulting

Great evening launching our new Montfort Communications Young Professionals in Financial Services Forum at the Butchers Hook & Cleaver in Farringdon last week, alongside Catherine Winterton Alexander Everett Michael Schutzer Weissmann Daisy Adams. We hosted a fantastic group of young professionals across financial advisory, investment management, asset management, private equity, banking, fintech, energy, accounting and law. The event gave attendees a chance to connect with peers at a similar stage in their careers, share experiences, and learn about the different opportunities that exist within the broader financial services industry. As the series expands over time, we hope to fill a gap of these much needed in-person events. Further plans in the works... let us know of any ideas or whether you would be interested in coming to the next one.

Yesterday, I tried to boil the ocean in 25 minutes. I spoke at the HR Leaders Conference about how the world of work might look in 2030, and the issues we need to resolve in the next 5 years to get the best from our people. It would be foolish to make hard and fast forecasts – the world is too volatile for that – but these are some of the predictions I shared about #employeeexperience in a large organisation in 2030: - TECHNOLOGY: With advances in #AI, a CHRO could have a real-time picture of workforce productivity, learning needs, mood and health, captured by wearable technology (employer-owned smart watches?). There will be pushback from employees if that encroaches too far into their personal space. Today’s communication technologies will be upgraded to collaboration and learning technologies, supported by VR headsets and AR glasses. - WORKFORCE: Corporate headcounts will fall, and their composition will be very different. 5 generations, more returners, more gig workers, fewer layers, broader spans of control, with Millennials occupying senior roles and #GenZ newbies refashioning the concept of leadership – expecting more influence on decisions and demanding access to high quality continuous learning. Tensions between generations will arise over the pace of career progression, communication styles and work-life flexibility. There will be more open conversations about mental health, neurodivergence and equity. - WORKPLACE: Corporates will experiment with working from anywhere and global talent pools, but the majority will converge on 2-3 days in smaller and well-equipped urban offices. An allowance for home office set-up will become a standard element in benefits packages, conditional on following hybrid policies. With all this change in the offing, the one constant is us – our neuroscience, our energy levels, our psychologies, and therefore our emotional needs as employees. However powerful the technology and futuristic the environment, we will still need skilled mentors and committed managers, to provide real-time advice and nurture purposeful and inclusive cultures. This is not just about preserving employee wellbeing. It’s about maximizing productivity, retaining talent and reducing churn. So organisations and new technologies cannot squeeze effective people management out of the system, however tempting it is in the short term on cost or technological grounds. In summary, firms will navigate the #futureofwork by striking a balance between their commercial needs and the emotional needs and career ambitions of their employees. Much as they do today, but all conducted at a faster pace and informed by real-time insight. Thanks to Jacob Alahan and Zain Malik for producing an excellent event and giving me a platform for my musings. Also, thanks to Chris Chesterman Rupert Brown Dr Hamira Riaz Alastair Ball Arif Bobat Emma Bondor. #futureHR #leadership #culture #employeeengagement. Montfort Communications
