Jumpstart your Career – Supporting the Future – Student Shanta Stolk Hi! I'm Shanta Stolk, from The Netherlands. I did a one-week internship at Van Oord Offshore Wind UK because renewable energy is such an interesting topic in the world right now. The office has different departments, during my week here I saw a little bit of everything; like engineering, planning, finance, and HR for example. The departments were all so different, but all so interesting. I'm not sure what I want to do in the future, so being here helped me see what jobs I might like or do not like. I had to come up with my own questions for my internship project for school, but I found that most of them were answered just by observing. I'm also working on a school project where I have to design an island that generates energy. Being at the office gave me a good idea of how such projects start and how they work in real life. Everyone at the office was really nice and helpful, which made my experience even better. Overall, I learned a lot during my time at Van Oord Offshore Wind UK and it was a great experience!
