🤔What tech stack do you really need to run a Short-Term Rental or ApartHotel business?(Part 1)
“It’s not about your tech stack, but how you stack your tech - Andrew Ozigi”….thats a quote I came up with as a guiding principle for setting up your tech stack to drive automation & value.👌
For those that don’t know me, a quick intro - I’m an IT Architect who consults for consultancies and implemented large IT projects for global organisations, but I’ve put that aside to turn a side hustle into a seven figure annual business 💷……and my IT career is now the side hustle.
I recently spoke at an event SCALE where I shared an IT architecture framework of what I implemented at home.ly which will be relevant for Serviced Accommodation, Aparthotels, or similar businesses looking to scale, and I’ll also be sharing this for free. 😀
My template splits up a typical accommodation business into key domains or whichever areas are important to the business, and then identifies which tech components are required for that area and how it integrates with other components to enable automation and efficiency, and to ultimately support business growth.📈
Each component can be anything from SaaS based services, in-house developments, cheap or inexpensive systems, to desktop applications like Excel or Google Sheets. The purpose is to identify and cover the various business functions such as: Channel Management, Finance / Revenue Management, Distribution, Property Management, Automation & AI, etc. In some cases, multiple domains are covered by a single system.🔄
There is a lot of innovation within the PropTech space and the IT landscape can be somewhat fragmented with various companies offering similar solutions, but the key is picking the right systems that can easily integrate to enable automation and help you achieve your business objectives.⛓️
I’ll be doing a series of posts in 2024 to go through each domain in more detail, so feel free to follow, like and share if you find it useful.
Thought leaders let me know your suggestions or if you disagree. 😀
