We're supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week here at Nene Park Trust! This worldwide initiative running 17-23 March, challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences and aims to transform how neurodiversity is perceived by celebrating all our skills and talents. At Nene Park Trust, we're coming together throughout the week to watch various online presentations on different aspects of neurodiversity in the workplace; have discussion and Q & A sessions; welcoming Sara Johnson, Access Consultant, to give a talk - and even stepping away from our desks for a wellbeing wander in the beautiful green space right here on our doorstep. We're excited to share that we've launched a new project, building healthier green futures with young people across Peterborough! 🌿🌳🥳 Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, this 2-year project with local partner organisations: WestRaven Community Garden (supported by Cross Keys Homes), #PeterboroughPresents and Froglife, will help young people develop new skills and create connections with nature and local greenspaces. Over the next two years we are aiming to deliver 25 group sessions to 500 young people in Peterborough, aiming to empower young people with ‘Green Skills’ – including gardening, conservation, wildlife surveying and much more - providing work experience and increased social connections, whilst spending time in green spaces with its evidenced health benefits. We're recruiting for a Major Projects Manager! 📣 This role will take the lead on driving forward an exciting portfolio of projects; most importantly Lakeside Activity Centre, our landmark initiative and one of the most significant leisure investments in Peterborough in recent years. Other projects include the restoration and re-employment of a very special set of listed farm buildings, the development of education, community and commercial facilities on our farms, redevelopment on some of our commercial sites and delivering infrastructure. The thing we love most about #PeterboroughCelebratesFestival is the way it brings the whole of Peterborough together in a celebration of our different communities! Each year we run a community creative project in the build up to the festival where we invite everyone across the city to get involved - schools, youth groups, community groups, care homes, families, organisations, individuals - to create something beautiful together that will be on display throughout the festival weekend. 🦋 This year, we're making a flutter of butterflies so come and get involved! 🦋 All you need to do is collect recycled plastic bottles and create and paint colourful butterflies.
