It has been an amazing few days meeting up with old friends and getting to chat to new ones across the educational landscape.
A big thank you to Everway (formerly Texthelp for inviting me to keynote on their stand and for the invite to the epic Bett and Battle party (I’ve still got the cowboy hat).
Ramsay Melhuish we definitley need a shuffle board rematch next year!
I got to catch up with the ever inspiring Dan Fitzpatrick & get my copy of his brilliant new book Infinte Education signed (you could have smiled mate!)
A big highlight as always was hanging out with the wondeful Pickatale - read, listen and learn! gang and getting to put the world to rights with Gary Beckett on the Newline Interactive UK & Ireland. Emily Guille-Marrett, it was lovely to catch up and talk about the next set of Curious Careers stories being brought to life.
Thank you to the Olex.AI team for inviting me to the stand to see Olex in person. What you are already doing to reduce teacher workload is amazing and I can’t wait to see it continue to evolve.
I thoroughly enjoyed bett for the inspiring innovations but also the sporadic catchups with people I admire in the education space.
A special shout out to Ian Hunter, Dan Kingsley, Daren White, Jodie Lopez, Katie Stickley, Martin Stickley, Abid Patel, Evo Hannan, Abigail Hawkins (FCCT), Conor Gately, Caroline Wright and Beverly Clarke MBE for the many laughs but also those moments of inspiration. Keep smashing it 🙏🏽
Last but not least, it was such a pleasure to catch up with Sam Jordan on the SPYRO stand as he shared the exciting work being done with AXOL | Launch your own EdTech with Merve 🚀. We’ve got big plans this year so it was brilliant to catch up in person and talk them through over a quick pint 🍻
There’s many more highlights from the last few days and I’m looking forward to reading the other Bett Global posts over the weekend that will no doubt capture more of those moments of inspiration and connection across education.
