NIAXO is 5 YEARS OLD today! Our anniversary very nearly coincided with this year’s Team Summer Event. The NIAXO team travelled to York last week, spending 3 days together at The Emergency Planning College (EPC). We kept our project and client work going and enjoyed the opportunity to work across the table from each other rather than across the screen. We also made the most of what the lovely city of York has to offer with some ever so slightly competitive clay pigeon shooting, a fascinating trip to see the Viking remains Jorvik Viking Centre, a scary/hilarious trip around York Dungeon and finally some Escape Room fun at Mindlock Escape Rooms (we all escaped….just!) Our team is a tight knit bunch and these events always enhance team cohesion – those that couldn’t make it were much missed! #awayday #teambonding #SME 

NIAXO is delighted to be the data consultant, collaborating with partners and stakeholders, on the UK National Commission for UNESCO Climate Change and Cultural Heritage Project. Together we will be working to mitigate the affects of climate change on cultural heritage sites across the United Kingdom. Reserve Forces make up approximately one sixth of our Armed Forces personnel and as such are integral to protecting the nation’s security at home and overseas, particularly providing capability in specialist areas such as cyber. Reservists give up their spare time to serve in the Reserve Forces, balancing their civilian life with a military career to ensure that, should their country require them, they would be ready to serve as part of the military. NIAXO was invited to a lunch last week to celebrate #InternationalWomeninEngineeringDay at the Royal Academy of Engineering. It was an inspiring afternoon with insightful, thought provoking talks and a Q&A session with Hayaatun Sillem and Rachel Skinner CBE Round table discussions followed on how approaches to diversity and inclusion can deliver most value for companies and employees alike. As Rachel Skinner said, “Everything is enhanced by diversity of thought” - diversity and inclusion isn’t just a hiring policy.
