Strategic, human-centred team making regulated enterprises AI-native by design.

About us

We transform regulated enterprise businesses with human-centred AI. As this technology reshapes every sector there’s a critical gap: enterprises need to adopt AI responsibly so it delivers real value while staying compliant, ethical, and values-led. In other words, don’t just bolt new tech onto legacy systems: become AI-native by design. We’re an experienced team with a deep understanding of the latest developments and how they impact the complex reality of enterprise organisations. Unlike pure tech vendors, our focus is on human experience – how AI impacts your employees and customers, as well as stakeholders like investors and regulators. Unlike agencies, we know how to implement and scale the technology, combining deep consultancy experience with a track record of designing and actually delivering enterprise transformation. Our clients are some of the biggest regulated businesses facing tricky transition challenges – banks, insurers, pension funds, healthcare and energy providers – all looking to unlock AI’s real potential safely, strategically, and for the benefit of colleagues and customers. For an enterprise to become AI-native by design: 1. Have a clear, organisation-wide strategy rather than isolated proofs of concept, towards achieving real, measurable impact. 2. Tech implementations fail without the human context – it’s people, not technology, that will make or break your transformation. 3. Compliance isn’t an excuse not to innovate – it’s an opportunity to design the best possible outcomes and experiences. Your competitors are laying strong strategic foundations now for a world that’s powered by these advances – don’t be left behind. Last week, we kicked off one of our in-person mentoring sessions for our Career Ready programme - and welcomed Mursal, a student from Portobello High School, to the Nile office for the first time. Career Ready is a UK-wide social mobility charity that supports young people in schools from under-represented backgrounds. At Nile, we’re really proud to support this work. We believe that talent lives everywhere - opportunity doesn't. That’s why we partner with Career Ready to help create experiences and pathways for young people who might not otherwise get the chance. You may remember some of us here at Nile did the 22 mile The Kiltwalk last year to raise funds for Career Ready. (Our legs have recovered we might even do it again. 😉) Over the coming months, Mursal will be popping into the office for her mentoring sessions. And in June, she along with another mentee will be joining us for a four-week paid internship, getting hands-on experience and learning what it’s like to be part of a forward thinking consultancy. It’s a small step for them - and a big reminder of why programmes like this matter and how valuable it is to support these school students as they take their first steps toward the world of work. #CareerReady #Mentoring #SocialMobility #FutureTalent #LifeAtNile

This Wednesday, we'll be heading to the The University of Edinburgh Venture Builder Incubator (VBI) and AI Accelerator (AIA) Showcase. Bringing together 35 early-stage and 12 later-stage startups, this event is a rare chance to see some of Scotland’s most exciting new businesses share their ideas and strategies for growth. We've been proud to play a key role in the AIA and VBI programmes over the last four years, helping founders refine their value propositions, sharpen their storytelling, and design better user experiences. Through training sessions, one-to-one mentoring, and bespoke workshops, we’ve seen first-hand how these programmes give companies the tools and confidence to grow. If you’re attending, we’d love to catch up – let’s talk innovation. 🚀

Yesterday, Niler Bridgette Bell attended the "Empowering Women Leaders in Tech" event in London. Hosted by Chamber UK and UKAI, it featured pioneering female entrepreneurs Edwina Dunn OBE and Martha Lane Fox, who talked about their book "When She's in the Room - How empowering women empowers the world". Some key takeaways on women in tech: • Visibility is crucial: The speakers observed that tech businesses founded by women often end up with a much more equal gender split. • Maths-to-tech disconnect: Girls often shine in maths and physics at school, but struggle to see how these can translate to exciting tech careers. The industry is recognising this gap and starting to take action - but much more needs to be done. • Women's health is finally getting attention: Science has long used men as stand-ins for everybody (labs didn't even test drugs on female mice!) A new focus on women's data will see growth in the 'femtech' space and create new opportunities. • What's in the AI box?: We need to know what data is feeding generative AI systems to spot and fix biases before they spread. As a woman-founded business ourselves, we're committed to ensuring nobody is left behind by the systems that shape our lives, so we were pleased to be at the event and look forward to more crucial conversations in this space.

In unstable times, doing good matters more than ever. March is B Corp month, and we're proud to be part of the story. We achieved B Corp status in 2021, when fewer than 20 companies in Scotland had qualified. That's grown each year, now standing at 94 businesses with HQs in Scotland that are committed to delivering purpose as well as profit. This week, our Knowledge Manager Ellie Raeburn joined other B Corps and aspiring changemakers here in Edinburgh to explore how business can become a genuine force for good. #BCorp #ethicalbusiness #BCorpMonth #GenB

Traditional approaches to diversity and inclusion in financial services have gone unchallenged for too long. Instead of trying to "design for everyone", we've taken a barrier-first approach with our client NatWest Group, considering exclusion as well as inclusion. By identifying and addressing the common barriers that services and banking systems create, this approach makes inclusion more actionable, effective and context-aware than broad, one-size-fits-all models. It ensures financial services work for those who need them most while improving experiences for everyone. We're excited to join NatWest on stage to share the outcomes of our work at the upcoming Market Research Society (MRS) Equality Summit in May.
