I had the privilege to represent Nomad Foods at The Economist 10th Annual Sustainability Week. I spoke to Oliver Sawbridge about our research on increasing freezer temperatures from -18°C to -15°C without compromising food safety or quality. This small shift can transform the global frozen food supply chain by reducing global CO2 emissions and lowering costs across the cold chain. Thanks to The Economist for inviting me to speak, and to Oliver for the great discussion! #NomadFoods #Sustainablity #MoveToMinus15

  • ‘Eating fish fingers may boost child development and improve behaviour’, according to a University of Bristol study reported in The Times today. The research, involving almost 6,000 English children, highlights the importance of seafood in early childhood nutrition – giving them the best start in life.   The study’s findings show: 🐟 Children who didn’t eat any fish were 35% more likely to display “suboptimal prosocial behaviour” compared with those who ate at least 190g a week.  🐟 By the age of nine, the non-fish eaters were 43% more likely to display poor social behaviour.   As champions of the frozen food category, Nomad Foods is proud of the fact that our fish fingers provide a healthy, nutritious, accessible option for all, especially for growing children, breaking down some of the existing barriers to fish consumption.   You can read more here: https://lnkd.in/e4ueDUBM

  • Tomorrow, our Chief Supply Officer, Eduardo Bachiega, will be speaking at the Economist Impact 10th Annual Sustainability Week in a fireside discussion with Oliver Sawbridge.   Eduardo will discuss how Nomad Foods is aiming to ‘turn the dial’ on frozen, following our research which demonstrated how freezer temperatures could be increased by 3 degrees, to -15°C rather than the traditional -18°C, without compromising on food safety or quality. This small shift has the potential to cut energy consumption by 10-11%, with similar levels of GHG reduction posing a huge cost saving and emission cutting opportunity for the cold chain.   The event takes place at the Convene Sancroft in St Paul’s, London and you can find out more here: https://lnkd.in/dZ_S-f9   #NomadFoods #SustainabilityWeek #MoveToMinus15 #EconomistImpact

Earlier this week, representatives from Nomad Foods Group and Market functions attended our 2025 Fish Summit at Nausicaa Centre National de la Mer in Boulogne-sur-Mer. Offering our consumers high quality, great tasting, sustainable fish and seafood is a key part of our purpose to serve the world with better food. Across the two-day event in France, colleagues got to hear about everything from our commitment to sourcing sustainably, to our progress on species diversification, as well as discussing exciting, new, innovative products that we plan to bring to our markets over the next 12 months. Above all, everyone left feeling energised by the wonder food that is fish! Fish is not only rich in high quality protein, but also a great source of different nutrients - currently lacking in modern day diets. This is why we will continue to provide our consumers with nutrient-dense, high protein, and convenient fish products that will help them eat healthier diets. A special thanks to Odile Marriott and the team for organising 🐟 🦐 ❄️ !
