North Lakes are getting their running shoes ready! 🏃♀️ Deputy Manager, Alice, and two of our amazing young people are preparing themselves to do two very different running events to raise money for some fantastic charities. Our young people will be running a 5k inflatable charity run on 7 September and raising money for Oak Tree Animal Sanctuary, where many of our young people visit to spend time with animals. In addition, Alice will be running the Great North Run on 8 September and has chosen to raise money for the NSPCC. If you are able to support either Alice or our young people in any way you can, it would mean a great deal to us. https://lnkd.in/ekE7ZTdW https://lnkd.in/eXtWpsRp

On Friday 14 June, we held a fundraiser at our North Lakes school as part of our Community Links project to raise funds for our local food bank hub! We raised over £100, which we used to go and buy essential items to donate as stock for the food bank. Read more: 👇 https://lnkd.in/erTuG4N6

Staff at North Lakes visited a local Agricultural Show at the weekend to showcase our residential childcare services. Surprisingly, even with Registered Manager Janette dressed as a dinosaur, we got to speak to lots of people and families about the amazing work we do to care for young people in the area - (rather than frighten them away) 😄

Before the Easter Holidays, young people at Herdley Bank School hiked 7 miles along Cat Bells in the Lake District for an outdoor education trip. Pupils persevered along the trail and showed great resilience. Those that struggled were encouraged and supported by their peers and in the end, all got to enjoy the stunning views that the walk had to offer! #CatBells #LakeDistrictWalks
